Small Venetian Apartment with Old World Feel
This apartment is a short walk from the train station. Google maps helped us navigate somewhat-frankly, all of Venice is a bit challenging regarding street names and numbers. The apartment was clean and quiet. It’s very close to a grocery store, an excellent gelato shop which we enjoyed (Alaska), and also many restaurants. The person who greeted us only spoke Italian and was in a hurry but she did orient us to the apartment. Communication was good with the owner both online and with WhatsApp. Wifi was okay. The bathroom is much smaller than the photos show. The door can’t open fully because of the bidet and there are no hooks or sturdy shelves in the bathroom. The tub is very small with an uneven bottom and it was very slippery. My husband and I are small/average size people and we found bathing to be very challenging. Also, the layout of the apartment is such that house-guest clothing storage is in the closets in the living/dining room and there are no dressers, shelves or hooks in the bedroom. This apartment definitely maxes out with 2 adults inside as the living space is very limited. We usually ate out and we did not use the stove top or oven. We did enjoy our time in Venice and we spent most of our daytime hours exploring this amazing city.
A neat little base from which to explore Venice
Excellent location near Grand Canal for transport, shops for supplies, small restaurants, but quiet. On first arrival at Rio di Biasio vaporetto jetty, go to the far end of Calle Zen, turn right and after only a few yards look for number 1404 on your left. The numbers do not run consecutively. This made finding it difficult in the dark. For no more than two people! Space is tight but you have everything you need. Was the ceramic hob faulty, or am I just stupid? Watch out for the slippery slope in the bath! The excellent Conad local supermarket is on Fondamenta Rio Marin. A very happy stay overall!
The location was wonderful and quiet! the apartment was sooo cozy and beautiful and clean!! I looked forward to coming back every night to cook and rest. I am small so the bathtub was fine. The lady that met me was helpful and welcoming. I had a great stay there and would stay there again.
Thanks Lita, I hope to see you another time😘!
Wonderful I would stay there anytime!! Loved the cozy spot situated close to train station and locals Restaurants everywhere!!! Will be back !!! Thank u for a lovely stay
convenient location,boat like feeling
It is small and even with 2 of us we 'danced" around each other at times. Be sure you have exact euros when paying the balance. Cash rather than credit card was requested and we wound up paying a little more.It was very quiet and centrally located which ,made it very nice for getting around to all we wanted to see. The bed is very low to the ground so may be difficult for those who have trouble standing from a low position. The tub with a hand held shower head was very small and again would be difficult for those who have trouble getting into a very low sitting position. We had to help each other in and out. It would be nice to have emergency phone #'s if needed- doctor, dentist as well as directions to the closest grocery store, which is very close.A restaurant that just around the corner has gluten free pasta both to be served and to buy to cook yourself. Loved the induction stove top!
It is always possible to use a credit card if you pay before arrival at the apartment, if you prefer to pay the day of arrival we can only accept cash. This was also specified via email. The cost was exactly as agreed, corresponding to the remaining balance and the turistic tax (€2,00 day/person).
Apartment was smallbut had everything we needed and met our needs. The location is great, close to train station, 5 minutes from the Grand canal. Walkable to everywhere we wanted to go. 5 minute walk to the water ferry. Plenty of restaurants close by.
Would recommend for 2 people 😀
