The Stone House faces south over a tranquil seawater cove with uninterrupted views to 14th century Rossbrin Castle and then out to Roaring Water Bay and Carberry's 100 isles. Located on THE WILD ATLANTIC WAY. Set in its own grounds and frontline to the sea on 2 acres the house is furnished to a very high standard with a contemporary scheme and sleeps six comfortably. It is perfect for a relaxing holiday and if you are on a first visit to Ireland the perfect base for touring. The house is spacious, light and well equipped. Schull is 5km away with its pretty shops and delis and of course lovely little pubs and great food. Local golf courses at Bantry and Skibbereen. The area is well served with gourmet restaurants as well as numerous cafes, some at wonderful beauty spots. Schull in the summer months is renowned for its sailing regattas, festivals and seafood. It is possible to moor a boat in Rossbrin cove which you can view from the house. Rossbrin Cove is an easy one and half hours drive from Cork city. You won't want to leave - just take a look at the reviews below !

About The Stone House

I fell in love with Rossbrin Cove and Schull 16 years ago on a weekend trip. It was 1999 and I had a magical year creating and working with local craftsmen on the house. The magic of both the landscapes and seascapes as viewed from the house never fail to take my breath away on each visit. The people of West Cork are the friendliest on earth. I have the most wonderful neighbours in the cove who keep an eye on the house as I live and work in London. My team include Lizzie the housekeeper. Julian a dear friend and neighbour. Brendan the gardener. David the window cleaner and Ian my wonderful handyman. Couldn't do it without them. The dream house in a magical location is my little piece of heaven on earth and I am delighted when others enjoy the peace and tranquility too on their well deserved holidays.

Why The Stone House chose Ireland

So accessible to other beauty spots and day trips.

What makes this house unique

Peaceful location overlooking calm Rossbrin Cove with views to 14th century castle ruin and islands in Roaring Water bay. Heaven !

Beautiful home and stunning vistas!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week in the Stone House. The house is in excellent condition with all the amenities of home. The owner's description of the property is spot on. The views from the house are breathtaking. We especially loved the horse family on the neighbor's land. We traveled to Killarney, Cork and Cobh from the house and, although a couple of hours away, returning back to the beautiful home was worth the extra drive. We took advantage of the owner's recommendations for dining and certainly were pleased. Angela, the owner, is a pleasure to work with. Thank you for a memorable vacation!!!!

Special house in a magical setting

  • 5 of 5

We spent Christmas at the stone house with three generations of our family. The house is spacious and designed to take advantage of the wonderful location and frame the very special views from sunrise to sunset. The décor and furnishings added to the experience as they went beyond home comforts to include lovely local pieces and little understated touches of luxury. Storm Barbara visited but the house felt solid and the open fire warmed and comforted against the wind. We also enjoyed breakfast on the patio in unexpected sunshine, afternoons exploring the garden, watching the wildlife on the shore and the upstairs windows allowed us to gaze on the dark skies and the stars. We know Cork well so didn't intend using this as a base to travel widely, however once you have mastered finding the house itself it is well situated to explore west cork. Our parting view was when could we visit again...and that we mustn't forget binoculars

Delightful property in a stunning location

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for just over a week in November and loved it. Just my wife and I so we had loads of space but this is a spacious property and has plenty of room for larger groups. Rossbrin Cove is a beautiful location and the property has some stunning views. Lit a peat fire regularly, which was just so cosy. The owner Angela was a pleasure to deal with as was Lizzie the house keeper. We would love to go back to the Stone House sometime soon.

An enchanting and sumptuous rural home set in 2 acres of lush landscaping with a breathtaking view.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent 12 glorious days with a friend and two other family members in this spectacular home surrounded by lush green landscaping and a panoramic view of Rossbrine Cove. The home is large, immaculate, full of light, tastefully decorated and extremely well appointed. It is rural but within a short drive to many small and lovely villages with limitless things to occupy your time with. The peace and quiet at this property was sublime. It was very easy just to get lost in the home, cozy up and read a book or set out for a long meditative walk. We will miss it's wonderful ambience.
