About The Stone House

My heart skipped a beat when I saw Rossbrin Cove and castle for the first time. I was working as a TV producer in London and had travelled the world with work so this place felt world class in terms of the location, wildlife and people ! I am still fortunate enough to travel between London and Rossbrin Cove frequently which has allowed me to indulge my passions for walking, cooking, roaming around the various farmers markets here and most importantly spend quality time with friends and family. It is just wonderful to share this beautiful house with others so they can experience all of this for themselves with their loved ones.

Why The Stone House chose Ballydehob

So easy to get to either Ballydehob or Schull within 10 minutes in the car. So many good restaurants/ cafes/ pubs (some with great music) and of course the artisan farmers markets in Schull, Skibbereen and Bantry for organic and local produce.

Wonderful walks all along the coast suitable for all abilities and ages.

What makes this house unique

Peaceful location overlooking calm Rossbrin Cove with views to 14th century castle ruin and islands in Roaring Water bay. Heaven !

Beautiful home and stunning vistas!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week in the Stone House. The house is in excellent condition with all the amenities of home. The owner's description of the property is spot on. The views from the house are breathtaking. We especially loved the horse family on the neighbor's land. We traveled to Killarney, Cork and Cobh from the house and, although a couple of hours away, returning back to the beautiful home was worth the extra drive. We took advantage of the owner's recommendations for dining and certainly were pleased. Angela, the owner, is a pleasure to work with. Thank you for a memorable vacation!!!!

The house was very clean and had nearly everything we needed for a week's stay. The setting was wonderful and we had great sunset views. Thank you Angela for being a great host!

This is a really comfortable, well organised and beautifully designed property.

We love this part of West Cork. In spite of terrible weather we got out for great walks, had a day on the beach and enjoyed long bar sessions with music and story telling. Good restaurants locally too - you eat well in this area. Angela was helpful and we can't wait to return!

Best rental ever!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at the Stone House in June. I cannot say enough positive things about this house. It was charming both inside and outside. The beds were quite comfortable with large kingsized bed in master bedroom downstairs. Had every amenity we needed. Wonderful view of the bay and Rossbrin castle from the kitchen and living area. It was still chilly enough at night in early June to have a lovely fire. Angela had stocked the bin by fireplace with peat and firestarters which was a nice touch. Location was wonderful- it was very private so that from house you could feel as if you were the only ones in Ireland yet we were able to take day trips to Ring of Kerry (including Skellig Ring), Ring of Beara, Sheep's Head Peninsula, Mizen Head, and even Dingle Peninsula. We went through much of east Cork, too including up to Fermoy and even bit of Waterford all as day trips because we really wanted to get back to our Stone House rather than get B&B. Only time we we used B&B was in Co. Clare and Co. Galway and after 2 days away we all agreed it was time to go "home" meaning our Stone House. Each year we have a family vacation rental, and we have been to Ireland many times, but our family of 4 all agreed that staying in the Stone House made this our best Ireland visit and best vacation ever.

Gorgeous Property - Captivating Views - Tranquil Location

  • 5 of 5

We had a beautiful sunny week. This property is spot on with the description. It is stunning. The flora, fauna, the cove and surrounding area are all gorgeous. Our family enjoyed the location immensely.

The surrounding towns are charming, the people are very hospitable and kind, and there are many locations to explore not far from the home.

Thank you Angela for the fond memories our family created in visiting the stone house in Rossbrin Cove.

This is a lovely home in a beautiful setting, the pictures do not do it justice. Very well equipped, scrupulously clean. Highly, highly recommend for couples or a family.

Very good butcher in nearby Schull, great market in skibbereen,

Prompt and courteous communications to all questions.

A great stay, hope to be back again. Thank-you.
