Why Jenny Nelson chose Lyndon
We fell in love with the knock-out beauty of the Northeast Kingdom on a family trip and decided to take a peak at houses for sale. As soon as we saw the house, we knew it was the one for us. The property is beautiful and the location is really ideal -- it's close to everything yet offers privacy and quiet. We spent nine months renovating the house and couldn't be more pleased with how everything turned out. The more we get to know the area, the more we find to love.
What makes this House unique
Mountain bikers will love being able to bike directly from the house to Kingdom Trails, which offers some of the best mountain biking in the country (not exaggerating -- ask anyone who's biked here!). The house has been renovated inside and out and is really beautiful, but it's also got brand-new mechanics (not so important to renters, but still nice to have). Terrific skiing at Burke is a seven-minute drive and parking there is super easy and close which makes the whole experience really pleasant and nothing like the insanity we've experienced at better known resorts. Plus, the lift lines are short! After a day of riding, there's not much better than an outdoor shower (it's enclosed and fully private, of course), except perhaps topping it off with a drink on the patio to catch the last of the sunset.

Perfect rental for Kingdom Trails and Northeast Kingdom summer
We repeated our 4th of July long weekend in this fantastic house. It's the perfect location to access Kingdom Trails and all the glories of the NE Kingdom in the summer (hikes, lakes, cute towns like Glover and beyond). We were two families with kids (from 4 to 16) and everyone had a blast. The house is newly renovated, very cute, with more than enough full bathrooms (+ an outdoor shower!) for a full house of active people. It's in such great condition, great light, nice furnishings, plenty of room to hang out and cook big meals. We spend most of our time outside on the porch (am coffee and reading and bfast) and the stone deck with a grill (dinner and cocktail hour) and in the yard (badminton and general running around). Jenny is so lovely and easy to work with. Thank you for having us again!
Couldn't ask for more terrific guests! Once again, you treated our home as your own. So glad you had a great time and we would love to have you back anytime. Hope your stay at Cozy Bend becomes an annual tradition!! Enjoy the rest of the summer!
Beautiful Home in a great spot
first home Ive rented that I didnt want to leave.....
You are welcome back anytime!
So fresh, clean and comfortable!
We stayed here two years ago and enjoyed it every bit as much the second time around. Really a wonderful place. Our friends were staying nearby in a "guys club" type cabin. This is NOT that type of property. With stained glass windows and hardwood floors and penny tile in the bathrooms, this is more dialed in on nice touches than rough and tumble. This was exactly what we were looking for. Great location, property, comforts, layout. The back mud room was a perfect place to keep our tired dogs in their crate after a long hike from the property without feeling guilty. The shed was great for bikes. Owner is very responsive - hope to stay here again!
So glad to hear it, Kim! You are welcome back anytime! Enjoy the rest of the summer. Jenny
Fit like a glove
This was our second year spending a long fall weekend at the yellow house. We are a group of four fiftysomething couples who make an annual pilgrimage to the Kingdom Trails for some quality mountain biking. The house is ideally situated for a short road ride access to the trail network (about a mile up Darling Hill Road), allowing for a pleasant coast home after the day's ride. The house is clean, spacious, and boasts a well equipped kitchen. Lyndon is just a mile away for shopping and dining. Jenny has been extremely accomodating with special requests and has quickly responded to any question. We will be returning!
Great House, Perfect Location
We spent a fantastic July 4th long weekend in the house (two families with kids). The house is great: beautifully and newly renovated, fully equipped from kitchen to baths (if you like to cook, remember to bring your favorite knife!), pristine condition--and set up for an active lifestyle with a huge mudroom, outdoor shower, and outbuilding to store bikes and gear. The setting is gorgeous: beautifully maintained landscape, back deck for grilling and eating outside, front porch for lounging, and a magical secret field behind the house perfect for epic Capture the Flag. Last but not least: the location is perfect for access to the amazing Kingdom Trails and also bopping in and out of E. Burke, Lyndonville, Glover, etc. You can literally ride from the house or park up by the Wildflower Inn to hit the trails. And, there's a fresh, cold swimming hole just across from the entrance for a post-ride dip. Jenny was wonderful to deal with--she responded immediately and helpfully to all questions and requests and equipped us with a generous list of ideas for restaurants, bars, things to do/see, etc. Thanks Jenny!
Lovely, beautifully restored home.
This home was a perfect place for our family to stay while in town for a family wedding. We chose it for it's convenient location but it offered so much more. It was well appointed; comfortable and homey. We had many local family members visit us there and they were quite impressed with how lovely it was. It was immaculate and every convenience was provided. We look forward to staying there again.
The house is located at the base of Darling Hill Road, which some say is the most scenic road in all of Vermont. It also allows easy access to mountain biking, snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, snowmobiling, road cycling. You don't even need to load your bikes to access the Kingdom Trails.
Lake Willoughby is great for swimming, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. There is a wonderful swimming hole across the street from the house, the perfect pick me up after a day on the trails.
