About this property

Beautiful Heritage House - In the heart of Kits Point, steps from Kits beach

Kits Point is surrounded on three sides by the ocean and public parks, yet is just a few minutes from Downtown Vancouver. Everything you need is at your doorstep including specialty shops and world class restaurants and shopping along West 1st and West 4th Avenue.

The parks surrounding "The Point" are home to the Museum of Vancouver, The Macmillan Space Centre, the Vancouver Maritime Museum and gorgeous oceanside parklands including, beachside tennis courts, basketball court and the worlds largest, (115 metre), saltwater swimming pool!

Granville Island with its artists' studios, cafes, bars, restaurants and live theatres is just a 20 minute walk away along the waterfront. Or grab a Bikeshare, just one block away.

Skiing is beautiful at the local mountains: Grouse; Cypress; and Seymour, each a 30-40 minute drive away. Whistler is less than 2 hours away and makes a great day trip.

The house is comfortably and eclectically furnished with everything you need for a relaxed stay, whether you're travelling for work or pleasure.

Watch the world go by as you sip your morning coffee on our beautiful Heritage front porch. Go for a run or a swim, or catch a nearby yoga class.

Explore all the city has to offer and then retreat to our cosy oasis, maybe even to the outdoor soaker tub on the upper back deck.

Enjoy meals on the secluded kitchen deck, surrounded by trees and sky-high black bamboo. Stroll to the beach for the sunset, or watch it from the upper back deck.

On those rainy Vancouver days, curl up by the fire with a good book, enjoy our selection or board games, or watch a flick on the widescreen tv in the family room.

* The neighbourhood is quite lively, especially in the summer, so you are likely to hear both neighbours and visitors to the area in the day and evening. The houses are quite close so noise will travel, but rarely goes too late. We have great neighbours, please respect their space by keeping noise down in the later evenings.

* For those with pet allergies: Although we do not allow pets, please be aware that our cat lives on site when we are home. The house is thoroughly cleaned between guests, but is not completely allergen free.

Amazing stay at Kits Point!
We had an amazing vacation at the Kits Point house. Location was perfect, walking distance to Granville Island, kite flying at Vanier Park and Kits Beach. The house had everything we needed. Games, toys, perfect back patio for dining. Parking is a bit tricky so watch the signs. Overall, highly recommended!

Isolation made easy
As Canadians who needed to return to the country to help with a severely injured relative during COVID we were required to isolate in quarantine for 14 days. Joanne's home was perfect, with enough space for us both to work, outdoor decks where we could get some much-needed sunshine and fresh air, and an eclectic neighborhood with awesome people-watching at our doorstep. Joanne was very responsive to any messages sent and accommodating with any requests we had. Thank you so much for the stay.

Great location, quiet neigborhood close to beach and downtown
Joanne's house is in a nice and quite neighborhood close to the beach, pool and downtown. The house is nice and well laid out. It is an older house so it has that old house smell that it takes a day or two to get used to. The house has a central A/C which is not common in the area. The beds were a bit too soft for us and the water pressure in the shower was low. The shower water temperature was inconsistent even though no one else was using water. The hot tub was a nice feature after a long day of walking and sightseeing.

There's no place like home. But we love to travel sometimes, mostly to spend time with friends and family. We hope you will enjoy our home and neighbourhood as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

We bought our home in 2000, not truly realizing how unique Kits Point is until we moved here. Our 1910 Heritage House is a sanctuary in the heart of the city, situated on a beautiful tree lined street, just steps from the beach, extensive parklands, and gorgeous views of Stanley park and the North Shore Mountains.

What makes this property unique

The neighbourhood is highly walkable, so there's no need for a car here. There are three grocery stores, and numerous restaurants and specialty shops near and along West 1st just a few blocks away. The Shopping District of West 4th Avenue is a couple more blocks away. A 20 minute seaside walk takes you to Granville Island with its Farmers' Market, and art studios and venues. A 20 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride over the Burrard Street Bridge takes you to Yaletown or downtown Vancouver.
