Overview

About the property

Within walking distance of many restaurants, night spots and shops.

This newly renovated 2BR/2BA home provides walkability and comfort in an urban setting. Rental rates are by the month, perfect for really getting to know the town and the mountains. For special stays, please inquire about rates. Our 1200 sq. ft. bungalow is within walking distance or a short drive to everything the city and surrounding mountains have to offer.

The home has two bedrooms, one king and one queen, each with a full bath. A spacious living room, covered patio, full kitchen with gas range and separate laundry room ensure that you have all the space and amenities you need. All rooms are on one level, with hardwoods throughout and central heat and air. Off-street parking is provided on site, as are free wireless internet and cable TV, though we bet you’ll be too busy otherwise enjoying yourself to notice. We are also close to numerous parks with hike and bike trails along the French Broad and Swannanoa Rivers. As you will see, our home is on the sidewalk that leads to everywhere!

Biltmore Estate, the Vanderbilt’s 8000 acre estate and French inspired castle, is located in Asheville, and is only 3 miles via interstate highway or quiet city streets away. Its 250 rooms are open every day for tours. The city is filled with historic homes including the Thomas Wolfe home and museum and too many excellent galleries, shops, restaurants and night spots to mention. While the city can hold you in awe, don't forget how convenient and beautiful the Appalachian rivers and mountains are when you visit. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only a few minutes from our door. Cataloochee Ski Resort and Smoky Mtn N.P. are a short drive away. White water rafting and tubing are available on several nearby rivers. If time permits, take a short drive to one of our many quaint mountain communities such as Black Mountain, Waynesville, or Weaverville.

The great food of Asheville is well known, but we also have a real claim to the title “Beer City.” USA Today recently recognized Asheville as the nation's unofficial east coast craft beer capitol when we earned third place in their Best Beer City poll. In fact, Asheville and Buncombe County have 18 craft breweries, most of those in Asheville. Additionally, three major craft breweries are in the area: Sierra Nevada is based in Mills River, Oskar Blues is in Brevard and New Belgium is building in West Asheville on the French Broad River.

Asheville has been referred to as the Paris of the South. Artists and collectors will not believe the quality and originality that is available. The Blue Spiral Gallery, Haen’s Gallery, the entire River Arts District, and the Highland Craft Gallery should not be missed, but there are too many outstanding art spaces to list here. Antiques and collectible fans will be in heaven, too. Our personal favorites are The Screen Door, Tobacco Road Antiques, Oddfellow’s Antiques, and the Kress Bldg. downtown. You will find a mix of the unusual, the unexpected and the “can’t live without” wherever you look.

Asheville is home, even to its visitors. Each street and neighborhood has its own charm. The Riverside Cemetery, final resting place for authors Thomas Wolfe and O'Henry, is a beautiful tree-covered space for walking and reflecting. Wherever you go, there are plenty of sidewalks to amble down, parks to rest in and food trucks to try.

Let our home be your central base. Enjoy the comfort, convenience, proximity. Take home the memories. Come back often.

Clean, comfortable and well equipped.

  • 5 of 5

Could not have asked for better lodgings in Asheville. We were within minutes of the downtown area and were provided with brochures touting all the best sites to visit. Nearby restaurants were good--particularly the Admiral. Loved the wild flowers in the yard.

July Vacation

  • 4 of 5

Overall very satisfied with property, clean and near to all the places I wanted to visit. I put four stars because getting in and out of the driveway is very difficult. The house is on a busy street and you have to back out, that wouldn't be a problem except that the neighbors property has bushes right up to the sidewalk which makes visibility to see the street very bad. Except for that safety issue I would rent the property again.

Beautifully decorated house convenient to everything.

  • 5 of 5

This house has been remodeled and has every convenience you could want and . It is in excellent condition with a really big backyard and lots of flowers blooming in the garden. It is about a 10 minute drive to the downtown area and close to major highways so it is really easy to get around. The only downside is the busy street out front, which causes traffic noise in the front bedroom. But even with that, we would definitely stay here again.

Outstanding!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here. The house has absolutely everything you may need. It was perfect for relaxing & enjoying the tranquility in the back yard. Location was great for exploring W. Asheville. Easy walk to Haywood. New Belgian brewery was a great spot to sample beer overlooking the French River with some great food truck offerings. I definitely recommend this spot for a perfect short get away.
