1 bedroom - 1 bath Apartment - easy walking distance to National Mall and Metro!

A few additional details-- unique to some HomeAway listings, you will find zero clutter as my home is rented full time, and as such is optimized for travelers! I am a full time host, and I take my responsibility to provide wonderful accommodations to you - VERY seriously!

This is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment in a vibrant, safe, family friendly neighborhood. The house includes one 32' flat screen TV, and has Xfinity TV and 50/25 (very fast!) wireless internet. One Queen sized bed, and loveseat with a twin-sized pull-out bed. Additional beds are provided via Twin sized air mattresses (provided!) The space is most comfortable for groups up to 3, but if you are willing too, the space can accommodate 4 people.

There is 1 - completely empty closets - in the bedroom for all your things; the fridge is sparkling and empty (except for some condiments) and kitchen cabinets are entirely cleared - with the exception of provided dishes and silverware (all Crate and Barrel.)

I also have a Keurig, and all the free coffee you could want/need! Free street parking is available - please let me know in advance if you plan to bring a car. Washer and dryer included in utility closet.

I am located .4 miles from the Shaw-Howard U Metro Station, and a one seat ride to everything that the city has to offer! I will do everything in my power to make your stay wonderful, and am happy to accommodate any special requests!

There are some terrific food options near my home, and I will be happy to help you discover these options!

Guest Access

The house is entirely yours throughout the rental period (unshared). You will have access to the entire home, including kitchen, all bathrooms, toiletries, and anything else needed to have a wonderful stay!

I provide a unique code to the deadbolt prior to your arrival, so late arrivals are no problem. You simply come to the front door, enter the code, and gain access!

Interaction with Guests

I have an electronic deadbolt - you will be sent a unique to you code prior to your arrival. I may be there when you arrive (depending on time and schedule) Otherwise, the house is yours! I am available by cell phone or e-mail, and promptly answer any and all questions.

The Neighborhood

Shaw is a beautiful neighborhood, with row homes built in the 1920's. Amazing transit access to the rest of the city, and a lot of restaurant options near the metro and the apartment. Many of my neighbors have been in their homes for 30+ years, and the neighborhood has a small town feel to it, with neighbors saying hello to each other and walking over to chat with each other on their porch.

Getting around

Car: Street parking is available. Please let me know if you plan to bring a car so we can get you a parking pass!

Metro: I am located .4 miles from the Shaw-Howard U metro station (green/yellow lines) es). This is a 6-8 minute walk from the apartment. Noma Metro Station (red line) is also within easy walking distance, .7 miles away.

Bike: There is a Capital Bikeshare dock located at Florida Ave & R St NW, approximately 1/2 block (.05 miles) from the apartment.

Taxi: Taking a taxi can be an economical way to access the apartment, especially if you're traveling in a group. Taxis from downtown will cost about $10-$15, depending on where you're traveling from.

This apartment was renovated from top to bottom in Fall '14. I spared no expense in this renovation, and couldn't be happier with the end result. The renovation included a top of the line gourmet kitchen with high-end appliances and finishes, as well as beautiful granite and plenty of cabinet space!

The bathroom was renovated to include a large glass shower with rain shower head. It is amazing! This is an amazing space that will please all travelers! A vastly superior option to staying in a hotel when you visit the city!

I run this property by myself, and use the same cleaner EVERY time to turn over the property. We have become incredibly good at this, and I go above and beyond to make each stay incredible for ALL of my guests. From providing free unlimited coffee, to regularly replacing towels, linens, and ensuring that all kitchenware and accessories are provided, I make your stay incredibly easy. Just bring your luggage and groceries (if you want to cook!), I provide the rest!

The property was very clean and well kept

The property itself was very clean, and had lots of amenities not normally included with a space like this (they had a tea kettle!)

Unfortunately I could not find the hair dryer as someone had stored it outside of the bathroom, and when I went to do the laundry (at check out) there was already some wet laundry left there.

The location was a bit further out than I'm used to but walking into DC was a beautiful day. Clear, and easy to get around. Thank you for making my stay a good one :)

Quaint Apartment in a Great Location

We stayed from 9/28-10/1 and our experience was great. The apartment is located about 6 miles from the airport and .5 miles from the metro. Perfect to get to downtown and all the sights. The apartment is small but comfortable for two! Everything was very clean and the apartment has everything from fresh towels, sheets, and kitchen supplies (kurieg, silverware, cups, etc.). Only downfall is the walls are thin so you could hear everyone in the building and construction is currently taking place next door. A fan in the room drowned out most of the sounds which was helpful while sleeping. Bloomingdale neighborhood seems up and coming which provided some great restaurants and nightlife about 5 blocks away. I would definitely recommend and hope to stay here again in the future!

Great Washington apartment!

Wonderful property! Well appointed with plenty of linen and comfort! Neighbors upstairs were loud but we turned fan in bedroom on to block noise and worked well. All updates and easy to use appliances throughout, we will definitely stay here on our next visit to DC.

Everything was wonder as described by the past guess. We spent most of the time site seeing daily. I would recommend this property to others and I would l'd stay here again if in town. The owners were easy to contact and helpful. The only issue was parking the two hour parking was annoying other than that we had no complaints.

Everything you need

We were only in town for a few days and stayed at the apartment just one night. This place is small but has everything you need for a short stay. Very convenient location to everything in the area. There is a convenient store just a short walk away and a BBQ restaurant right on the corner. It was raining the night we were there, so being close to something to eat was great after a long day of sight seeing and WALKING ALL DAY. Kyle was always helpful when we had questions. The parking is a little confusing as there are signs everywhere with a 2 hour max parking time . We did not went to get towed but had no problems and were even able to park right in front of the apartment. Kyle was nice enough to tell us that he would pay the parking ticket if we received one. We would definitely recommend this place if you are visiting the DC area.

Good small apartment for a couple

Kyle's place was very clean and comfortable. It is about a 10 minute walk from the subway and had some nice places to eat nearby. Lots of parking available on the block as well.

LeDroit Park is a wonderful neighborhood. Located in the middle of Washington, D.C., and close to transit and downtown, but with a small-town feel, where neighbors say hello to each other. Neighbors love gathering at the farmers market held every Saturday 1 block from the apartment!
