About Deb Grant

The 'small city, big town' aspect of Portland is what drew us to Portland 25 years ago. I'm a Montana girl who loves the vibrancy of an urban atmosphere, and the culture of both countryside and town. My husband Chuck and I have partnered on many projects through the years. He currently lives on site, and I live a mile away. We enjoy working together and have put a lot of love into the Portland Belmont House. We now enjoy sharing it with others.

Why Deb Grant chose Belmont

We bought this property because of its location, bones and vibes! 128 years of stories to tell. A diamond in the rough with unique character and hidden elegance made it a place worth putting our heart and soul into renovating. The rustic concrete counter tops and restored original cabinet (found on the back porch) balance out the vibrant splashes of color and high end appliances of the kitchen. Solar panels, stagger studded walls, and ample insulation look to the future while the 8' wood pocket doors, original fir floors, and intricately carved wood work reveal the past. All new electric and plumbing, and sound absorption channels between floors, help remove the unnecessary aggravations of the past to better enjoy the beauty of the space.

Portland Belmont House provides a quiet, comfortable home stay within a vibrant, fascinating part of Portland. We are 3 blocks from the famous Sunflower Intersection at SE 33rd and Yamhill, a uniquely Portland part of Portland. The house charms people. The great yard, patio, barbecue, (and fire pit too!) make a person feel out in the countryside, yet, only a block and a half away are the shops, world class, affordable restaurants, gourmet grocery stores, food carts galore. Public transportation is a stone's throw away. Drive down the street and you are in downtown Portland in 4 minutes. Everything you need right out your door.

  • The bathroom has the original claw foot tub. It has not been refinished but is clean and works well. It is a simple bathroom with a great view. Good light, and a good fan.

  • Both bedrooms have quality queen mattresses. We get many compliments on our mattresses! Main bedroom is in the back of the house mostly away from street noise. The smaller bedroom is in the middle and gets some street noise when the window is open. A fifth guest can use a pull down bed.

Classic house and great location

Deborah was a wonderful host. Very personable and responsive. The property is a greatness location and walkable to lots of restaurants and things to do. All of us enjoyed are stay and had no issues whatsoever. We never had a problem finding a parking spot close by and would definitely stay again!

Cute apartment in a great location

We loved our stay in portland! Deb was super helpful whenever we had any questions. We loved the location and even though Belmont is a fairly big street, the apartment was very quiet. Everything was clean and there were plenty of towels. There are good restaurants and bars within walking distance which was very convenient. Thanks so much!

Fantastic, light filled launching pad

I stayed at Deb’s with three friends- it was a lovely launching pad for long walks, trips to restaurants, and story drives to downtown Portland. It’s a quirky little apartment that is filled with light and well equipped for a small group.
