About Deb Grant

The 'small city, big town' aspect of Portland is what drew us to Portland 25 years ago. I'm a Montana girl who loves the vibrancy of an urban atmosphere, and the culture of both countryside and town. My husband Chuck and I have partnered on many projects through the years. He currently lives on site, and I live a mile away. We enjoy working together and have put a lot of love into the Portland Belmont House. We now enjoy sharing it with others.

Why Deb Grant chose Belmont

We bought this property because of its location, bones and vibes! 128 years of stories to tell. A diamond in the rough with unique character and hidden elegance made it a place worth putting our heart and soul into renovating. The rustic concrete counter tops and restored original cabinet (found on the back porch) balance out the vibrant splashes of color and high end appliances of the kitchen. Solar panels, stagger studded walls, and ample insulation look to the future while the 8' wood pocket doors, original fir floors, and intricately carved wood work reveal the past. All new electric and plumbing, and sound absorption channels between floors, help remove the unnecessary aggravations of the past to better enjoy the beauty of the space.

Portland Belmont House provides a quiet, comfortable home stay within a vibrant, fascinating part of Portland. We are 3 blocks from the famous Sunflower Intersection at SE 33rd and Yamhill, a uniquely Portland part of Portland. The house charms people. The great yard, patio, barbecue, (and fire pit too!) make a person feel out in the countryside, yet, only a block and a half away are the shops, world class, affordable restaurants, gourmet grocery stores, food carts galore. Public transportation is a stone's throw away. Drive down the street and you are in downtown Portland in 4 minutes. Everything you need right out your door.

  • The bathroom has the original claw foot tub. It has not been refinished but is clean and works well. It is a simple bathroom with a great view. Good light, and a good fan.

  • Both bedrooms have quality queen mattresses. We get many compliments on our mattresses! Main bedroom is in the back of the house mostly away from street noise. The smaller bedroom is in the middle and gets some street noise when the window is open. A fifth guest can use a pull down bed.

Cute and comfortable

We loved our stay at the Bird's Nest. The atmosphere and layout of the upstairs apartment made us feel comfortable and at peace on our vacation. Deb was gracious and helpful above and beyond what I would expect from a renter. We would absolutely stay here again.

The apartment is so cute, the beds are so comfortable and everything we needed was there. Loved the location - pearl district is a 10min Uber drive and you're minutes away from some great breweries and coffee shops. Would definitely stay here again.

Practically Perfect in Every Way :)

Deb's Victorian home is absolutely beautiful and charming. They've done an amazing job of outfitting the space with everything you could need. My partner and I, plus another couple, stayed here for our 5th Annual Weekend Trip to Portland and it was our favorite of all the places we've stayed! Each bedroom was very comfortable and cozy, the kitchen and bathroom are well-outfitted, and the living room is a great size for a party of four. There's even a lovely little balcony off the living room that was perfect for my friend's morning meditation and coffee. The location is perfect - tons of restaurants, bars, shops, grocery stores, pot shops, etc. all within walking distance. We would love to stay here again!
