About Harriet Battiste and Debra Campo

The property is owned by two lovely ladies from New Orleans, Louisiana and Central Florida. Since we currently reside in New Orleans, only 1 hour away, we purchased this property for a weekend getaway for our family and friends. We both love cooking, biking, walking, and of course, the beach which is within walking distance from the property. Our goal was to perserve the histoical attributes of the property while bringing in some upgrades that complement this beatiful treasure.

Historic Gulfport is the perfect vacation spot for family and friends. There's so many things to do within a short distance. The sandy white beaches are simply beautiful and if you like Casino's, a trolly car will bring you to many Casino locations along the Mississippi coast. We love our beach cottage and hope you will too.

One more day.....

  • 5 of 5

My 16yr old daughter had a college exposure softball camp in Gulfport,MS. We usually stay at hotels for these kind of events. We wanted a little more since we've never visited the beaches of Mississippi. We arrived a day earlier than we needed to be there to do some off Shore fishing but of course it rained all day so we had to cancel that trip. The weather didn't keep us indoors. There's so much to see and the array of restaurants the beach offers are many! The cottage is so peaceful and a lot of space. It was my husband, my 16yr old daughter, my 11yr old daughter, my 5 yr old newphew and myself. The beds were so comfortable, I slept all night which is unusual. I didn't get to use the beautiful kitchen for any cooking but I know it would have been a delight. I used the back sunroom to do some work, I think that was my favorite part of the house. I normally set up in the dining room to do work away from the office and it's somewhat stressful. Well the sunroom was perfect with all the natural daylight and the beautiful greenery in the backyard. We did stay one extra day than our original requested reservation. We visited Biloxi where we did some shoppings and enjoyed the water sports. I definitely recommend this house if you are staying in or near Gulfport.

Cute older home with all the amenities.

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cute home. The location was close to the beach and had beautiful old live oak trees...which we love. There was a great back deck on the property and a grill for our use. We had a problem with the dishwasher not working. The owners were very gracious about the problem...this in no way hindered our great stay. We loved it!

We stayed four nights in this immaculately kept cottage one block from beach

Lovely yard with big trees and picnic table for outdoor dining

Separate fenced. Back yard safe for pets or children

Three bedrooms all spacious and comfortable

Living room cozy and dining area too

It was just two of us and we loved back bedroom with sunroom attached

Very nice bathrooms and very clean

I like to leave a rental a little better than I find it but that would be hard here

Its really nice!

So We left a couple bottles of wine!

Highly recommend this little treasure

We spent evening on front porch swings!

Awesome time!

Great getaway for our little family

  • 5 of 5

We loved everything about this house!!

The owner was so helpful/responsive when we forgot the door code. She gave us the feeling that if we needed anything she was just a phone call away. The house is beautiful, clean and smelled great (not always the case in pet friendly places!), the kitchen is well equipped with windows looking at the awesome garden and passing trains (never loud enough to wake anyone up- my toddler was in heaven seeming the trains). The swings on the front pirch and fire pit on the side yard- this place was made for relaxation! (A hammock is the only thing I wish I would have brought!)

The Sun room was our favorite spot! We ate most of our meals there and the dogs loved being in the a.c. but still having a sunny spot!

THE YARD!! We came for the yard and it did not disappoint! The dogs loved all of the space as did our 1 year old. There is plenty of shade and plenty of sun! A charcoal and a gas grill were available- we used both! The deck was a great spot for coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night!

I can't express how much we enjoyed this house! We didn't see a single thing that could be improved!

The owners have really done a great job of making this place the perfect get away to relax!!

Close to the beach, cozy and clean!

  • 5 of 5

Someone has put a lot of thought into this little bungalow. Not for themselves, but to insure the enjoyment of their guests. We have so enjoyed our visit to the Gulf coast and it's been, in part, the wonderful cottage that we booked. The house had everything we needed. When we arrived, everything was already in place but our own food. There were paper towels, bathroom tissue, extra pillows and blankets, spare batteries (!), towels, sheets. We happened to be here on Valentines day, and there was even a vase for my flowers. The house has good water pressure, washer and dryer, dishwasher, TV in each bedroom and the living room, and the fridge has a built-in ice maker.

I love the stove and looked forward to using it, but we only used the oven. Very nice. One bedroom has a memory foam mattress, which was amazing.

We were fortunate enough to have good weather and cycled (our own bikes) to the beach and down to Long Beach on a couple days, and to Pass Christian the last day. The house is about 2 blocks from a Waffle House, a Dollar General (or Family Dollar) and a convenience store.

The back yard is fenced, so our daughter's dog could stretch his legs and get away from the family for a few minutes safely. We didn't leave him out without close supervision though. This was easily accomplished on the lovely back deck, or the sunroom. We grilled out several nights on the grill provided. There may have been charcoal here, but we didn't look for it. We just picked it up at the local grocery. There is a Winn Dixie on 49 and a Walmart. There is also a Walmart on the beach road in Long Beach.

I can't write enough good things about the house. The owners are equally wonderful. Very accommodating and open to any inquiry.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Gulfport. Thanks to Deb and Harriett!

We hope you enjoy your vacation as much as we enjoyed ours.
