The house and location are great. We enjoyed being able to go out onto the golf course in the evenings and throw a football or go on a walk. The house is comfortable and in great shape.
Our issues were with the host and her lack of communication (similar to one of the other reviews I read). We were charged a pool heating fee and were expecting a heated pool when we arrived in early April. Unfortunately, the pool was very cold and the kids were not able to swim in it. I messaged Liz and asked her if the heat was on. She replied and said that it should be, but that she could come by and check. She never came by, and that was the last time that she replied to one of my messages during our stay. We searched around and found the heater. It was off, so we turned it on. By the next day, it still wasn’t warm enough to swim in. The following day, we went to a baseball game and were gone most of the day. When we came home in the afternoon, we were surprised to see that someone had stopped by and the pool was being drained! I immediately unplugged the pump and called Liz. She did answer the phone and said that there was a miscommunication and they weren’t supposed to drain the pool (later, I talked to the pool guy, who said that she didn’t inform them that there was a guest in the house that week). When the pool guy started draining the pool, he turned off the pump and heater. We were able to fill the pool back up with water from the hose, which was cold, but we didn’t know how to turn the pump back on. The heater won’t run without the pump. I called Liz multiple times the rest of the week and she didn’t answer. I sent Liz multiple messages through the VRBO app and she didn’t respond. So, we went the whole week without being able to use the pool, one of the main reasons we booked this house.
After our stay, I sent Liz a message through the app to inquire about a refund of our pool heating fee. That message went unanswered. I subsequently left multiple voicemails and additional messages for the next week and she didn’t answer or respond to those, either. I finally sent Liz a message to let her know that I was going to dispute the charge with my credit card company, and to inform her that she would be responsible for fees, as well as the refund. That did the trick and she finally replied. I don’t believe she ever would have, otherwise.
I would not recommend staying with this host.
