About this property

Beautiful home located on a bluff overlooking a meadow and creek with a great view of the smokey mountains. The updated home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms with a great split plan. Also has central heat and air conditioning, indoor fireplace, outdoor firepit large paved driveway for easy turn around and two car garage. Very large open concept living and dining area for great entertaining. Secluded yet minutes from town and in the center of lots of outdoor activities. Close to the Appalachian Trail and the Blue Ridge Parkway and all that western NC has to offer. New in 2023 we now have internet service albeit slower than a lot of metropolitan areas but that is the price you pay to be in the mountains!

Perfect House for a Fall Getaway

Very clean, nicely decorated. Very well supplied kitchen, had everything from corkscrews to chip clips. Everything worked, from the Keurig to the heat. Ample firewood was provided which was needed since we were there during a cold snap. Nice view off the porch and nice paved driveway. Clear directions for driving, entry, wifi, fireplace and checkout. Comfortable beds, lots of linens provided, there's a list of local favorite restaurants and hikes. The house is tucked away in the woods but the town of Franklin is only 15 minutes away with a big Walmart, Ingles and really good restaurants. Great location. We saw deer in the front and the back and great stars on the clear nights. It truly was perfect.

Beautiful mountain getaway

Perfect location, beautiful property on the side of a mountain, beautiful house with all the amenities. Close to everything you need: hiking, waterfalls, adventure, and walmart!!!

Love this place

We've stayed here 4 times now. This is the only place we rent when we come to Franklin. Let me know if you guys ever decide to sell it, I will buy it in a heartbeat!

This rental is absolutely perfect! There is plenty of room and the view is outstanding! If you are staying to see the fall leaf explosion, this is definately the place! The mountain view from the porch or just the front of the house is spectacular! I hope to make this an annual trip for sure!

This property was purchased in 1999 and the home built the following year by my parents and I as their part time summer home in retirement. They are no longer able to travel back and forth and we are only able to use a few times a year so we want to share the beauty of this place with others to help cover its costs and keep the home in our family.

Why they chose this property

Our family built this home to accomodate family gatherings. It has a large open living area and great split bedroom plan. It also has lots of outdoor area and beautiful views. It is a great location that feels as if you are away from it all, yet you are close to town and all the attractions. The house is located off a paved road that it between highway 64 and Wayah Road for easy access to everything but yet you do not have the distraction of a main road when sitting outside watching all the wildlife!

What makes this property unique

The location is fantastic for western NC and all it has to offer. So many things are located just 30-45 minutes away in every direction so you have lots of options for fun day trips. It is very secluded but yet minutes to Franklin's downtown which is one of the larger towns in western NC. So you can enjoy a quiet and relaxing stay or hop in the car and drive a short distance to all that western NC has to offer. The two car garage and large driveway area are nice for guests who travel with toys like boats or motorcycles as there is plenty of room to store them and to turn around trailers or just to accommodate several vehicles.
