About Jacky Mattin
My name is Jacky and I share ownership of the property with my son Alex, a busy anaesthetist in Oxfordshire. We have spent regular holidays here for many years and still do.I no longer ski but visit in the summer but my son and family ski when they can.
Jacky Mattin purchased this Chalet in 1994
Why Jacky Mattin chose Les Houches
Well, we love it! We have had some lovely Christmases here, with fabulous skiing and lovely summer holidays (my son, when young, would spend the entire day at times in the Olympic size swimming pool in Chamonix). My French Father was a Chasseur Alpin in the 30ties and returned to the area when widowed thus introducing us to the Alps and leading to ownership of the property.
What makes this Chalet unique
Our very friendly agents, Chris and Fraser from" Apex Management and Concierge" in Chamonix. They will meet and greet you and be available for anything you may require.

Great Stay in Les Houches
The apartment was in a great location enabling us to get to all the resorts. We thought the apartment was well furnished and we were all able to relax after a days skiing. Fantastic and hopefully will return again!!
Howard,
Many thanks for your review and yes please do come again!
If not to ski, it is lovely in the area in the summer, with lots to do.
So glad you enjoyed your time chez nous...
Very best wishes,
Jacky
Perfect little chalet for 4 people in a beautiful setting.
We loved our stay here.
An idyllic appartment in a beautiful chalet.
What an amazing stay we had in Les Houches, such a beautiful part of the world. Mountain walks are incredible In the summer and when it got too hot, the open air swimming pool with the views of Mont Blanc and a multitude of paragliders in the air.
The chalet itself is charming and homely, lovely little garden enclosed by tall bushes with, you guessed it, mountain views. We loved sitting on the decking and watching the mountains turn pink at sunset with a glass of local wine.
The new couch is very comfortable and it was nice to have a TV (our Amazon firestick worked thanks to the WiFi in the chalet, we got a bit of Netflix action going on) the dining area, kitchen and living room are open plan which makes the place seem spacious for a 2 bed flat there are new appliances in the kitchen area which all seem in perfect working order. The main double bedroom has an ensuite and the kids loved the bunk room. We arrived to fresh sheets and towels on the bed, which you didn't always used to get in France when you rented places.
There's a nice supermarket down the road and we enjoyed taking the baby for a walk down to buy croissants in the morning. There's a little path off to the left on the way down the hill, and then you cross a bridge over a gushing mountain river, fabulous!! I can see why people come to this place again and again, and for the price this chalet is fantastic.
So pleased that you enjoyed your time in our property and we are delighted to see that you have booked again for next summer!
Kind regards,
Jacky
Slice of mountain life
We loved our stay in your beautiful mountain chalet. It was quiet, clean, and very comfortable on the cool evenings. Great hiking nearby and a quick drive to town for restaurants and shops. Very well stocked for week stay. Thank you!
Nice quiet location, lovely chalet.
Another great stay in this quiet comfortable chalet after many years. It's up a fairly steep road so be aware chains may be required if snow is heavy. Book with confidence.
Very nice place with a tremendous view on "L'aiguille du midi" from the living room.
Very nice place with a tremendous view on "L'aiguille du midi" from the living room. The chalet has everything you need, it's a very great place near the main places of the town and you can find a bus within 5 to 10 minits walking that will get you in Chamonix in only 10 minits.
Great welcome, lots of information about what you can do in the valley were put on the table when we arrived so we didn't need to oversearch by ourselves.
Map
In Summer, the Parc de Merlet nature reserve is not to be missed. It has the best views of the Mont Blanc from its balcony restaurant and there are opportunities to see a lot of alpine wildlife. Also not to be missed: Taking the funicular railway to the Mer de Glace glacier and the cable car up the Aiguille du Midi, a mountain standing almost 4000m high with breathtaking views.
