5* Rated. Great Reviews. Golf Cart. Block to Lake MI. W/O 7/21 Open!

Bedrooms 3
Space 2,000 sq ft
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 7 nights

About the property

3 Bd/2 Bath, 2,000 sqft private home one block from Lake MI. Very secluded.

*** 3/12 - Please Note - The water levels in Lake Michigan are high this year and the beach in Grand Beach has been greatly reduced. We believe the house and village offerings sell themselves (please see reviews) however we have discounted our pricing accordingly for the summer season and can not guarantee the quality of the beaches. The nearest public beaches are in New Buffalo (4 miles), Michigan City (10 miles) and Warren Dunes State Park (14 miles). ***

One open week for summer remaining. Weekly bookings only in the Summer (Saturday to Saturday). Very private home on a sand dune set away from neighbors. Aptly decorated for your beach vacation. Block to Lake Michigan. Golf cart included (in season). As we run on multiple sites please know that we have 60+, 5-star reviews in total (and only 5 star) in under 3 seasons of owning/renting the property. Many reviews rave about the deck, the decorations, the serenity and/or privacy.

TreeTops is a classic Grand Beach home nestled in the trees of Old Grand Beach; a block from Lake Michigan, the park/tennis/basketball courts, a quick 1/4 mile golf cart ride to the golf course and includes all the trappings for a great week or weekend. Snow shoe or cross country ski in the winter on the golf course. The house is a very private property as evidenced by the pictures and many of the comments in the reviews. Both the house and adjoining deck are perched high off the street on a sand dune away from neighbors and their activities.

The home is 2,000 square feet with 3 bedrooms/2 baths and a monstrous deck that winds down to a dead-end street that allows you to walk the block to the beach in a few minutes. As well, your rental (in season) comes with the use of our golf cart, that seats four, and can quickly transport you to the beach, golf course or anywhere within the Village. Grand Beach is a golf cart “approved” village. You must have drivers license to operate golf cart on the streets.

The kitchen is very large and comes with all kinds of necessities for cooking and baking. We keep the spice cabinet well stocked so leave your spices at home. Re: grilling, we have a new, large gas grill for the barbecue king or queen. There's a bar off the kitchen that allows for additional seating to the kitchen nook table. See pictures for better detail. We have a Keurig coffee machine for your K-Cups as well as a traditional coffee maker too.

The main living area is very spacious and includes a large flat screen TV and a dual sided fireplace for fires in the off season. There's an additional 4 person, round table in the living room for added seating, working a puzzle and/or a great game of cards.

The three bedrooms upstairs bedrooms are spacious and all have newly acquired beds and linens. Total bed sleeping accommodates 9 (1 king, 2 queens, 1 twin bunk and one twin) and is ideally suited for three families with kids. This is not to say that some can't sleep downstairs but the house is really geared for six adults (max) and some children. Let me know if you have any questions about lodging.

For the summer vacationers, we have a surfboard, a kids kayak, 5+ boogie/wake boards, 2 beach cruiser bikes, a half dozen beach chairs, four small-child life vests, tennis rackets/balls and an umbrella for the beach.

We’re excited to offer you a great, private retreat home in Old Grand Beach for whatever your week or weekend calls for. Mid-week rentals also available as we rent year 'round.

A little history: the house was purchased at the end of 2014 and we completed the renovation in the spring of 2015...just in time for the rental season. All pics are current to the property today. TreeTops is also owner-managed.

So come stay with us. Many others have. We really think you'll enjoy the house as much as we have so far. And please don’t hesitate to contact us with questions and thanks for giving us a look.

About Keith

Family of four from Chicago and long time vacationers to the area that decided to take the plunge and buy a property in this great little area of Grand Beach

Keith purchased this house in 2014

Why Keith chose Grand Beach

Suited our family and rental prospects very well. Situated up on a sand dune, the house and deck are "away from it all". House has great bones and matched perfectly with our desire to create a "beach like" home near Lake MI. With its 2,000 square feet and large deck you never feel on top of each other.

What makes this house unique

Serenity. Very private. Great area of Grand Beach. Grand Beach is a quiet little beach village It's a throwback beach town. Lotta walking, golf cart travel and overall friendly folks. Re: the privacy, you can't just show up and park your car in the street and hit the beach...need to be a resident or guest so very little traffic. You'll visit once and come back for years...just like us.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This house is a very comfortable one in beautiful Grand Beach. It is nestled in the middle of mature trees so it gives a great feeling of privacy. The house contains every utensil, pot, pan and bowl that you could possibly need for food prep and cooking. The house is very clean and tastefully decorated. Linen and towels are plentiful along with all kinds of beach toys. Our family had such a fun family vacation here. The golf cart made it so convenient to go to the beach with all supplies in tow. It was also fun to ride in the cart and see the other beautiful homes in Grand Beach. Located between Michigan City, IN and New Buffalo, M., there is always something to do close by should you want to outside Grand Beach. Take some water shoes because the beach and shoreline are very rocky. Beach and beautiful sunsets are only a short walk away. I would rent this property again. Keith Szanto is a wonderful host. The process of booking the house was easy and provided me with all the necessary information.

Clean, quiet, accessible

  • 5 of 5

What a great property! It was an easy drive from Chicago. It's still the off season but the house and the grounds were in perfect order. Easy walk to the beach and the golf course. The deck is elevated and a perfect way to spend the day. The house is big and well appointed. Great fireplace and well-stocked kitchen. The owner was very accommodating and helpful. Most relaxing week I've had in a long time.

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

This property is one of our favorites. It is charming and comfortable. The owners have thought of everything including a well stocked kitchen, all the linens you could possibly need plus much more. We had 4 adults and 1 child and everyone was very comfortable. We had a lovely time and appreciate the fact this a pet friendly property. The owner was great to work with and we would recommend this property.

Spacious and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We used this home to meet up with the grandparents for a few days in late winter. The home was exactly what we needed. The kitchen was spacious and had all the basics and then some. Nana was able to bake with the grandkids and we made all of our dinners at the house. There is a table in the livingroom which is perfect for late night board games and afternoon tea and coloring. We loved the kids bedroom! Our family of 6 plus the grandparents all fit comfortably and never felt crowded. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect place for any season, treehouse views with the best fireplace! Functional and comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I rented this house for a weekend getaway. Kieth the owner and his family have thought of everything to make the house feel cozy and functional. Everything is easy to figure out, from the wifi to the fireplace... and what a fireplace!! Our visit was during a snow storm but we still had a blast in front of the fire and walking around the neighborhood, dipping into town, etc. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean, the house was stocked with what we needed to settle right in. Kieth even left us a bottle of wine for my wife's birthday! I can't recommend this home more, we've stayed in the area at several homes and this is now our favorite... we will be back!!

Owner's Response: Thanks Ben. Glad you enjoyed your time at the house. Yes, quite the snow storm but a nice fire goes a long way when it's piling up outside. Thanks for caring for the house and come back and see us.

Home Away From Home!

  • 5 of 5

This home is beautifully decorated and stocked with all the amenities from home and more! It is nestled in the treetops with an ideal location to the beach. The living area is cozy with ample comfortable seating, good views of the outside, and a large woodburning fireplace. The bedrooms are equally cozy with comfortable beds and plenty of sleeping options. The home is clean, well maintained, and ideal for multi-families. We would definitely return if staying in the Grand Beach/New Buffalo area.

If I had to use one word to summarize the property, it would be SPECTACULAR! The house is immaculate, and the owners thought of every detail to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. There are plenty of towels, sheets, and beach toys. The house has an amazing deck, which makes you feel like you are in a treehouse. It is a short walk to the beach, and the golf cart is a great addition. The house is decorated impeccably, and it has a warm ambiance. The photos do not do the house and deck justice; it is even more beautiful in person. While it is close to the beach and restaurants and breweries, it is nestled in a quiet and secluded area with friendly neighbors. Keith, the owner, is a gem. He goes out of his way to thoroughly answer each and every question and responds quickly to all correspondence. He is warm, friendly, and welcoming. He made us feel like we were a part of his family instead of guests. I cannot say enough good things about this property, and I can certainly see why it books quickly! Thanks, Keith, for an amazing stay!! We cannot wait until our next visit!
