Overview

Photos and Description of this Forcalquier holiday guest house

18th century country house: 3 bedrooms, 1 penthouse suite, 1 cottage. Views

This Provencal country house dating back to 18th century has been fully renovated. It is located in the country of lavender in the Luberon Regional Nature Park, next to the Verdon Natural Regional Park. It offers one of the most beautiful views over the historic village of Forcalquier (a 5-min-walk away), surrounded by hills. It is very peaceful, but close to many activities. It has been carefully decorated and completely equipped with Internet access and Wi-Fi, bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a separate apartment, an invigorating salt-water pool, a large garden, an orchard, and a vegetable garden. It also offers a parking space.

Details for Bed and breakfast 3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 7, 3 Bathrooms

On the first floor of Provencal country house, there are three bedrooms with white marble fireplaces, red mullet tiled floors, and en-suite bathroom with an artistic decoration. On the ground floor, there are two large living rooms with friezes, mouldings, cornices, frescoes on the walls, and drawings on the colourful cement tiles. The ceiling heights exceed three meters, and there is a panoramic view. The house offers a staircase opening into a suntrap, like in ancient times!

About Cristiana Chiandussi

I have a degree and got experience in Italy regarding the management of high quality holiday rentals. I move from Tuscany-Umbria to Provence, in Luberon. I love meeting people from any origins and cultures. I also like quality cuisine (I have a cooking radio programme) and am in charge of my three cats: Tissy, Fifi, and Loulou.

Why Cristiana Chiandussi chose Haute-Provence - Sisteron

We fell in love with this authentic 18th century Provencal country house, its wonderful dormers, and its dominant view of Forcalquier and the surrounding mountains. Inside, the ceiling heights exceed three meters. You will love the friezes, the mouldings, the decorating cornices, the white and black marble fireplaces, the cement tiles, and the red mullet floor tiles. The house offers a staircase opening into a suntrap. Renovating this Provencal country house took us 4 years, working with local artisans and respecting the Provencal style and the nobility of the place. We enjoy the location of this Provencal country house, south facing, with a clear view. It is located on a small hill, which allows us to admire the citadel both during the daily and at night. We are located a 5-minute walk away from the city centre. Finally, Forcalquier offers any kind of leisure activities: tennis courts, hot air ballooning, horse riding, cycling, scents, night-sky gazing, and many hikes in the surrounding areas: the lavender fields, the perched villages of Luberon, the Ganagobie Abbey and Salagon, the Roussillon Ocre Rocks, the Gréoux thermal baths, the Verdon Natural Park, Jean Giono, and the typical Provencal market in Forcalquier! Additionally, there is a good public transportation service (10 km away from the Oraison station).

What makes this guest house unique

It has a superb and wonderful view. This an authentic 18th century Provencal country house. The air is pure (Chinese painter Liang Kegang put in a glass jar and sold it in Beijing. You will find tranquillity and nature, just 5 min away from the city centre. There is a large garden, an invigorating salt-water pool, Internet access throughout the house, high quality services and meet and greet, a high quality restoration of the place, and a lot of respect for the environment.

Parenthèse douce et ensoleillée

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5
