Photos and Description of this Auderghem holiday apartment

68-m² apartment, comfortable, 1 bedroom, 1 double bed + 1 single bed

Maison Clémentine welcomes you to a ground floor apartment with a garden and terrace. It is bright and spacious, equipped with all comforts and a stylish decor. It is located in a house dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. The house has been completely renovated by an architect. This has favoured the conservation of several original features in order to respect the character of the house. The walls separating the rooms were removed to have a large space in one room, offering a loft-style, with large bay windows overlooking the garden. It is located in a peaceful haven, close to university campuses (ULB, VUB, Boston University, Kent University), the European School, restaurants, brasseries, caterers, a hypermarket: organic and classic supermarkets, and all services. It is a five-minute walk from two metro stations and bus stops (Hankar and Delta metro stations, and buses 34, 71, 72). It is four metro stations away from EU institutions and the Cinquantenaire Museum, as well as 15 minutes away from the city centre (Grand-Place, museums, the Royal Palace, Manneken-Pis, and much more). The Ring (ring road) and the road network to all local and European destinations are 5 min away. There is a closed and secured parking space in another building, a 4 minute-walk away. It will be available upon reservation and a small charge of €5 per day. Parking on the street is both possible and regulated (Mandatory blue zones). We give preference to the comfort of our guests. That is why the apartment has a bedroom with a 160x200-cm bed and a living room with a 90x200-cm bed for a third person (adult, child, or adolescent). We also offer a cot for a 3-year-old baby, with a 60x120-cm mattress and a high chair. Bed linen and bathroom linen are provided. There is no extra fee for cleaning services. Do not hesitate to ask for a period longer than a month.

Why Alain chose Belgium

Brussels is an international city/region, open to the world and very welcoming. The European Commission headquarters are located there, as well as the European Parliament and NATO headquarters. Besides the embassies and consulates from all over the world, many European Regional Representations and international groups have offices there. This means that restaurants, offering a very diverse cuisine, compete in expertise and quality for demanding customers. Museums are numerous and the history of the city is a thousand years old. Brussels remains a medium-sized city within walking distance and with public transportation. It is composed of 19 communes, which have a centre around the Municipal House and all interests (restaurants, markets, large shops, churches, schools, pools, sports centres, and much more). In the large communes of the same model, there are many districts, squares, markets, and much more. That is why you can find the atmosphere of a village, a street square, an avenue, and a place recalling the past. Many houses are old and have a particular style. They are highly appreciated. Visitors or people who have moved, love Brussels. We are sure you will be part of them.

Confortable et sans souci!!

  • 5 of 5

A bientôt. Alexandra et Alain

Lovely apartment

This is a very spacious lovely and well maintain apartment with all you need to make you feel at home. The apartment has large windows with view to a beautiful backyard. Alain and Alexandra are extraordinary hosts and they supplied at the arrival with few necessities in the fridge. The apartment is located very close to the subway which make it easy to access all the sites you will visit. I definitely recommend this apartment if you plan to visit Brussels.

Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at Alain and Alexandra's apartment for a couple of weeks and immediately felt as if we were right at home. The apartment was clean, nicely decorated and furnished and we felt safe there and in the neighborhood. They made sure we had everything needed, including food and drink to get us through until we settled in. Alain drove us around the neighborhood to point out where things were located that we might need. The apartment is spacious and stocked with everything we needed and more. All methods of public transportation are located close by. We were there during the terrorist attacks and having them check on us meant a great deal! Alain drove us to the bus after learning our flight out of Brussels was cancelled. The hosts as well as their apartment exceeded our expectations in every way. Thank you both so much for everything and we will definitely stay with you again when we return to Brussels!

Has everything you need and more!

My husband, son and myself spent 5 nights at Alain's apartment over the Christmas holiday. It was ideal for us! It had an incredibly well stocked kitchen, including some food that Alain had provided for us. He gave us a thorough orientation to the apartment and surrounding area. It was clean, comfortable and we had a great time. It is very close to the metro, so very easy to get around Brussels. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Alain!!

A Lovely Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed in this lovely apartment - really the ground floor of the owner's 100 year old home - for 2 weeks in June 2015 and loved it. The flat is spacious, light and very well furnished. It is clean and very well maintained and the kitchen is very well equipped. Alain actually provided enough food on our arrival to make a small meal - eggs, cheese, milk, fruit as well as biscuits, chocolates and wine! It made us feel very welcome indeed. Alain also took the trouble to show us around the neighbourhood pointing out good restaurants, bakeries, etc with advice on travel into Brussels and elsewhere. The flat is located close to the metro (15 minutes into Brussels) and the secure underground parking is a short 5 minute walk away, next to a large supermarket.

The highlight of our stay for me was coming 'home' everyday to see the beautiful walled flower garden and terrace outside the large french doors - an extension of the living area. Just perfect.

I would thoroughly recommend this apartment to anyone wanting a base close to Brussels.

A lovely home in Brussels

My husband and I stayed in this apartment - actually the ground floor of the owner's 100 year old home - for 2 weeks in June/July 2015 and loved it. The flat is spacious, light, clean and well maintained. The kitchen is well equipped and Alain actually provided enough food to make a small meal on our arrival - eggs, cheese, milk, fruit as well as biscuits, chocolates and wine. It made us feel very welcome. Alain also took the trouble to show us around the neighbourhood pointing out restaurants, best places for bread, groceries etc. The highlight for me was to come 'home' each day to see the lovely walled flower garden - an extension of the living area. Just perfect. There is a metro stop a short walk away and then just minutes into Brussels, and undercover, secure parking just a 5 minute walk away is also an advantage.

I would thoroughly recommend this apartment to anyone wanting a base in Brussels.

Thank you Alain for helping to make our stay so memorable.

Car: not necessary

From the Brussels International Airport, take the train to Central Station. Then, take the metro to Hermann Debroux. Get out at Hankar station, and you will be five minutes away from the house. By car, take the route to Waversesteenweg and not to Boulevard du Triomphe, as indicated by the GPS, because Brassine Avenue is located in a loop of local traffic not accessible by the boulevard, giving it an appearance of a "village in the city." The Brussels International airport is located in Zaventem, a 20-minute drive from the apartment. The Brussels South Airport is located in Charleroi, 50 km away from Brussels. A shuttle bus takes you to the Brussels-South railway station (see the airport website). You can find supermarkets, restaurants, caterers, transport, gyms, pharmacies, car and bike rentals, parks, ponds, forest, museums, cinema, theatres, and nightclubs. Everything is available and nearby. From your apartment, you can visit all of Brussels using public transportation. It is better to leave your car parked. We are also located in a strategic spot, not far away from the railway stations and road networks, which allow you to visit, by car or train, all the Belgian cities, such as Bruges or Ghent, as well as the coast, the Ardennes, and the cities of neighbouring countries (Lille is 100 km away. Paris is 300 km away. Amsterdam, Cologne and Luxembourg are 2 hours away by car).
