About the property

Pool, hot tub, BBQ, breezy lanai, brand new mattresses and pillows, and more

Cliff top whale watching, stunning beaches, world class golf courses, lush mountains, waterfalls; our Kauai condo offers it all! Our Sandpiper Village resort studio is one of the most sought after as it is not on the main road and catches the sea breezes. It also has beautiful vaulted ceilings.

Our condo unit is located in the center of the beautiful gated community of Princeville, Kauai and is next to the Makai Golf Course and tennis facility. The Princeville Resort was voted the best resort area on Kauai and the 8th best in the world by Conde Nast Traveler magazine. It offers homes, condo's, hotels, a shopping center, restaurants, and 45 holes of golf.

This studio condo, which sleeps two people in a queen size bed, has its own lanai, bathroom, and studio kitchen. The kitchen offers a half size refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, and microwave with outdoor and indoor dining seating. Outdoor grills are available by the pool. This studio is also equipped with a internet and cable with flat screen TV.

We offer an affordable base to explore the North Coast of Kauai. The town of Princeville is located on the North Shore, which features gorgeous white sandy beaches and lush green mountains plunging down to the ocean. Princeville has all the conveniences you need complete with grocery shopping and the beautiful town of Hanalei is only three miles away. Hanalei Bay, Annini, and Kalihiwai beaches are seven minutes away, and beyond them a dozen more world class beaches line this incredible coastline, ending at Ke'e which looks upon the stunning Na Pali Coastline.

Princeville is a golfer's paradise feauturing Hawaii's number one course, The Prince Course (temporarily closed due to building works), and number five course, The Makai Course. As a guest at The Sandpiper Village you qualify for golf discounts on both the world class 18 hole 'Prince Course', ranked Number 1 in Hawaii and Number 43 of 'America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses' and the 27 hole 'Makai Course', Ranked Number 7 in Hawaii and also in the top 100 by Golf Digest. In addition, your guest status at The Sandpiper, offers you a golf discount on all the courses on the North shore.

The North Shore of Kauai has some of the most beautiful scenery anywhere in the world. Hike the World Famous Kalalau Trail on the Napali Coast, located on the North Shore of Kauai, and see the breathtaking views of the mountains, waterfalls, and sea. Surf the numerous famous world class breaks and Hanalei Bay. Paddle board the rivers through taro fields or the nearby lagoon on Anini Beach. Enjoy the spiritual experience of a helicopter ride over the steep mountain ridges.

The world famous beaches of Hanalei Bay and Lumahai, and the spectacular scenery (the movie Jurassic Park was filmed here), are just a short drive away. Travel and Leisure magazine recently chose Kalalau Valley, located on the North Shore's famous Kalalau Trail, as one of the most beautiful places in America. Kayak to the base of waterfalls. Horse back ride through valleys. Go deep sea fishing or just fish off the pier. Snorkel and scuba dive. See humpback whales breech...Or just lounge around the pool.

Come see why we fell in love with our condo and the North Shore of Kauai!

About Christine Horbas

My daughter had the brilliant idea of buying a Kauai condo so that we could meet up every year or so on this idyllic island. She lives in New Zealand and we live in Wisconsin so Kauai is half way in between the two. The clan has grown so now we have two grandchildren to meet up with as well. The condo we bought continues to meet all of our needs. No more breathtaking helicopter rides on the Na Pali coast or late nights drinking cocktails at the Tiki bar. These days we are happy to snorkel in the nearby lagoons, relax by the pool, meet some friendly locals and fellow visitors whilst grilling over the BBQ, and keep a look out for humpback whales on the horizon. The north shore of Kauai is still paradise for us and our family. If you enjoy our condo half as much as us, you will be hooked on the North Shore of Kauai too!

Why Christine Horbas chose Kauai

My daughter lived and worked in Kauai in 2003, and she fell in love with it. She has travelled the world, and no where has captured her heart like Kauai's North Shore. She convinced us to accompany her on a vacation there, and we were spell bound. We readily agreed to buy a condo in Kauai. We only wanted to buy in Princeville, because if you are buying a condo that is a nine hour flight from home, it might as well be where you want it. No where on Kauai compares to Princeville for views, exclusivity, safety, and location. This condo is the best in Sandpiper Village as it offers lovely sea breezes, sea views, loads of space, is set on a quiet road, and is very comfortable.

What makes this condo unique

We fell in love with our condo because you can sit on the lanai which boasts a distant sea view whilst feeling the soothing trade winds caress your body and listen to the palm trees rustle in the wind. During the winter months, if you can call 79 degree highs winter, we might see whales breech on the horizon. The condo also provides full amenities, high ceilings, and decent square footage. The neighbors are friendly and there is a communal pool, hot tub, and BBQ.

This condominium complex is a short walk from the cliff top edge which overlooks Anini Beach with a beautiful lagoon ideal for paddle boarding and snorkeling. There are also three fantastic golf courses that surround the complex. The five star St. Regis Hotel is down the road where one can bask in full view of the sun setting over Bali Hai Mountain and Hanalei Bay. The resort is set in the beautiful and laid back north shore of Kauai where whales cruise by, waterfalls plunge over steep, lush mountains, and golden sandy beaches await. This truly is paradise. The most beautiful region of Kauai and the Hawaiian Islands. You won't be disappointed.

A little disappointing

  • 2 of 5

When we arrived at 4:07 the condo wasn't ready yet (check-in at 4). We had to leave so they could complete the cleaning. When we came back, the key box had not been reset to the number we were given and we could not get in. We called the owner and she was able to resolve the issue. It was miserably hot and we couldn't stand to be in there from about 10a.m. until well after dark. When we finally got in and went to bed,the sheets smelled like armpits. They didn't smell fresh at all. We laundered them ourselves when we got up the next morning. Overall not the perfect experience at all....

Old. Not 100% clean.

  • 3 of 5

It was ok for the price. Noisy neighbors. A little confused why we had to strip the bed and take out the trash if we are paying a cleaning fee.

We enjoyed our four days in Princeville. The condo was just as advertised and had everything we needed. It was clean and comfortable. We would recommend saying here for anyone visiting Kauai.

Simple, clean accommodations to enjoy the area.

  • 4 of 5

The space met our needs for a couple of days at the tail end of our trip to Kauai. It was nice to have access to the lovely pool and hot tub. The grounds were pretty and it was quiet. The set up could be a lot better if they invested just a little in more appropriate furnishings... something to hold the hot plate, coffee pot and dishes aside from the TV cabinet, separate small shelf and dresser drawers. Sheets and towels were clean and nice, bed was a little wobbly.

Exactly what was advertised, small but a great base for exploring the island.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay, no issues with the tenant downstairs but we were gone most of the day and were exhausted at night. You can hear tenants of the other buildings but it was fine, bring earplugs if you are sensitive. There is a small electric skillet in the unit but limited to cooking anything. Fridge/freezer was big enough to store drinks and ice cream and sandwich stuff and anything you would need for a week. The cliffs to watch the sunset needs shoes and is on the cliff so be aware, especially coming back in the dark. There is not a member card for Foodland, and things are pricy there so buy at Wal-Mart when you leave the airport. Just know that princeville is a bit out of the way, we traveled a lot staying there, about 550 miles. There are restaurants but will probably need to travel down to Kapaa for other food selections if you are staying for a while, the drive is about 30 minutes one way. We really enjoyed our stay here and didn't mind driving as it made us explore the whole island and all the different beaches and hikes. Oh and bring a costco card as gas is 80 cents cheaper there.
