very disappointing
We were very disappointed with the apartment. It definitely did not live up to the reviews. The bed was so hard we felt sleeping on the floor might be more comfortable. The shower bath tap mixer didn't work,the hot water pours out on your feet while trying to have a shower causing the hot water system to empty so quickly there is no time to wash your hair or hot water left for someone else to have shower. The position of the toilet so close to the handbasin makes it impossible to sit properly unless you are a midget. In the kitchen the bench tops are all cracked and broken and whilst most cutlery, dinner and cookware is provided there are no tea towels to wipe up or a place for wet dishes. The walls between apartments are thin and the noise of neighbours snoring or doing other things in their beds and generally going about their daily lives is disturbing. The television remote has no batteries and our host told us on arrival she wasn't even sure the TV would work. The lounge cushions would benefit from a good clean. The apartment looked clean on arrival with plenty of linen provided and it is situated close to trams ,buses, supermarket and shops. Overall we were very sorry we had paid for 10 nights in advance and were unable to cancel and go elsewhere. We cannot say we enjoyed our time in Lisbon whilst the people are friendly the city is shabby, dirty and polluted with Sintra bring the only place we truly felt worth visiting and if we had the time over we would prefer to visit Italy, Spain or France again.
