When one beach just isn't enough!
About Kristi McLean
Kristi, a life long Alaskan, was raised in a log cabin by her pioneer parents. By the age of 20, she had already coached skating and skiing, commercial fished, and was running her own boat and crew. Commercial fishing for salmon, halibut, crab, and herring have take her throughout Alaska's waters. A self-taught artist, working primarily in clay, she spends her free time sculpting in her Alaska studio.

What makes this Cabin unique
The waters of Kachemak Bay are some of the richest in the world for sea life, offering visitors an unforgettable experience. Here you will see whales, bald eagles, and sea otters from your doorstep. The unique geology of the area, has produced a fantastic setting for beach combing, tide pooling (best at minus tides), fishing and wild life. Watch the sun rise over one beach and set over the other.

Great place to stay!!!
Unbelievable!!! Relaxing, quite, and peaceful. Just what we were looking for.
We absolutely loved this cabin! The MacDonald Spit is beautiful and the cabin is so cozy! We had a great time relaxing and exploring the area. We will definitely be back!
Wonderful Alaskan experience
Beautiful scenery everywhere! The cabins were adorable. Loved relaxing and exploring the area . Wonderful Alaska experience for the independent traveler!
Between Beaches is the place to be
Everything a stay cation should be and so much more. The views are spectacular and the kayaks, hot tub, sauna are just a huge plus. Campfires on the beach and scoping out the tide pools are the best. Kristi is an amazing host and couldn’t say enough about the hospitality and care they put into this diamond in the ruff. Thanks again for everything. We will be back over and over again.
Fabulous time on two beaches
Wonderful cabin so well designed and fitted with everything one could need, the sounds of surf and eagles calling filled mornings and evenings! Great beach combing and fishing, art for those inclined. It was fabulous!
The cabins and property were amazing! The rustic cozy cabins were nestled in trees that faced the ocean on one side and a bay on the other side. The bay side view resembled a mountain lake. Kristi is truly a wonderful host! We spent a great deal of time talking with Kristi in her art studio and looking at her gifted artwork. We took Hans Peterson’s Halibut Charter Adventures and caught huge Halibuts that we were able to have Seldovia Fishing Alaska ship the fish to our home! The best moments spent at the cabins were walks on the beaches, bonfires while watching sea otters go by and spotting a whale while fishing for Halibut. Thank you so much Kristi!!!
We are water access only, A water taxi can bring you right to our beach! MacDonald Spit is a very unusual land formation known as a terminal moraine. The property is aprox. 75 feet wide with a beautiful sandy beach on each side. We have extreme tides here which offers us great clamming and tide pooling at minus tides. Please check tide tables. A short land taxi ride can take you to the village of Seldovia from our trail head. If it is windy on one beach you can crossover to the other.
