About this property

Remodeled vintage, village home for SAFE relaxing fun getaway

I am now renting again after stopping because of COVID-19; I wanted the house to be safe for myself, my precious village and visitors. So I am now open for business, but still no dogs of any size and only children who are well supervised by parents or grandparents due to my furnishings and fact i live here. My village requires masks in the heart and in its shops, restaurants and more, so if you come please observe safety. Grocery stores are well stocked and you can also get deliveries or take-out. I have been ultracareful; nobody has been sick here and hope to keep it that way. I have stayed well. Please come only if you are 100% well and from a safe area. I prefer that you be vaccinated. I cannot reduce the rates but they are fair for the area, so please do not ask for a discount. There are places to do work if you are working from home--a built-in desk upstairs, two tables in the dining room, two desks in two of the bedrooms and other areas. Wi-Fi is strong, bathrooms new, have a lovely backyard and front porch, too. Games such as croquet, jigsaw puzzles, Monopoly, a piano, TVs, central air upstairs with a UV filter light system, and a unit downstairs in the window. I love to cook so plenty of utensils and a Nespresso machine. No pets at all; children who respect an antique homes and fine belongings please. This is my home and I love it so it's not a group of spare rooms but with comfortable furnishings, books and more. Know that it's an old house so there are minimal closets, however. Have fun here as I do. Thanks for thinking of coming to my very special village, a true gem. Also, the library has reopened and the village offers lots of great walks for fresh air and sights of people, tennis and pickle ball courts.
Nearby is Bard, Marist and Vassar colleges, the C.I.A., the Walkway across the Hudson, FDR's home and library, 1 hour plus away is the Berkshires for real country., and another hour away is Litchfield County, gorgeous bucolic scenery.
The village also has tennis courts, pickleball, a playground.
There are always clean sheets and towels, plenty of dishes, a dishwasher and laundry equipment.

Lovely home and town!
We were in town for the Sinterklass celebration and this home was in the perfect location! So easy to walk to shops and restaurants during our stay. Our host was very easy to communicate with and genuinely wanted us to enjoy our time in Rhinebeck. She went above and beyond. There were even fresh brownies! The home itself was very clean. It is beautiful and was brimming with art and charm! My husband and I, our two kids and my parents were all very comfortable. Plenty of sleeping options, with super comfy bedding. This home is well appointed and clearly well cared for. Thank you for a lovely stay!

About the host

Love to cook, paint, entertain, and work--still must do it but isn't that great!
Love to garden too and have a perennial garden all around and planters that once had vegetables and now mostly perennials and herbs and a few tomatoes since the squirrels are too aggressive and i hate sharing! There's also my fern garden, lilacs and hostas and hydrangeas. I love nature, come enjoy it too!

Why they chose this property

Because it's light, bright, roomy, air conditioned, new bathrooms, updated kitchen, right in the heart of the village, steps away to shopping, library, bookstore, Pilates, yoga, art classes and lots of great restaurants! Has four comfortable bedrooms that sleep total of 7 with two in master, two in two other bedrooms and one in the smaller bedrooms, two full bathrooms, one half bathroom downstairs, great big living room with Piano!, large dining room with two tables, family room, and modernized kitchen and outdoor spaces at front and back for sitting, garden with flowers and some veggies, gravel sitting terrace with Adriondack chairs, and close to Bard College, Vassar College, Omega, Marist college and 1+ hour to the Berkshires and not far from the Catskills and skiing. Use my pots and pans and spices and cook here, watch TV, use my Wi-Fi, and relax. Close to my gym and Pilates classes, too, and walkable or bike to village swimming pool and tennis and new pickelball courts. Have two bicycles to use. Rent for a weekend, week, month or two or LONGER! But know that this is my house I love and live in and not a spare business; so there is my stuff; neatly organized and you'll feel at home with my cookbooks etc. you can book for a night, weekend, week or month or longer! I am here to help make your visit delightful, so you want to and again!

What makes this property unique

The village is a gem, maybe the best place I've lived with culture, food, kind people and so much near by, including the Berkshires 1+ hours away. And even in the deadly winter, it's still a joy to put on a coat, hat, gloves and boots and stroll out to see how pretty the town looks. You can book for a night, weekend, week, month or longer! For clarity: there are four bedrooms: a master with queen bed for two; a nice bedroom with double bed for two; another nice bedroom with twin beds pushed together for two; a smaller bedroom with very comfy bed for one, so sleeps 7 altogether!
