Overview

About the property

4 bedrooms, 5 beds, 3 bathrooms breathtaking lake & mountain view sleeps 10-12

One of the most spectacular lake and mountain views on Lake Cumberland! Brand New home in the gated community of Lake Cumberland Resort with 4 bedrooms containing 3 queen beds (2 in upstairs room) and 2 king beds, TV's in every room, 3 full bathrooms, (all linens provided) fully furnished kitchen, main floor fireplace and entertainment area, downstairs rec room with additional television and pool table and upper and lower decks to enjoy the view. (The biggest little house you will have ever visited). Hot tub on lower deck off rec room. Convenience of washer/dryer in the basement. Huge windows to soak up the scenery from the kitchen and living areas on the main floor. Perfect location for families with children as you can put the kids in the upstairs room, which has plenty additional space for a pack and play, etc., while adults can spread out in the other 3 bedrooms. Quiet section of the water, away from the commotion of the main lake. Boat lovers welcome as you may launch your boat off the private ramp located minutes from the house. If you are simply looking for a quiet place to enjoy and possibly soak up some rays, the small swimming pool in our gate is up the road, about 1/4 mi. from the driveway. The Country Store a half mile up the road sells basic necessities, pizza and hot sandwiches and gas, at a greatly reduced rate from what you would spend at the Marina, and allows drop off of boat/trailer for convenience purposes.

About Monica Brewer

As a boating/lake loving family, we wanted to provide our children the opportunity to build memories in a home where we could feel comfy while inside, enjoy a view you simply can't get from anywhere in OH, rely on the conveniences of launching our boat within a 5 min. drive and establish a place our kids will want to visit good ole Mom and Dad, once they're all grown up and moved away. We hope you can make as many memories in the confines of these walls as we intend to enjoy.

Monica Brewer purchased this house in 2014

Why Monica Brewer chose Lake Cumberland

Lake Cumberland is one of our favorite places to visit as, especially from this home, you can enjoy a scenic view without looking in someone's back window while in the home yet from the water, regardless of where you may venture, the surroundings have been maintained in their natural element. A rare find on many lakes we have traveled.

What makes this house unique

The warmth this home provides, especially on the main floor, with the pine wood floors and back wall as well as huge A frame windows allowing for all day light and gorgeous views caused us to fall in love with this location and home.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We had an outstanding time at the house. The house itself is great, and we could all tell that you guys have truly taken care of it and take pride in it. We wound up going with 2 other couples (so 6 total)… there was supposed to be an additional couple that came too, but something came up. It was a perfect size for our group (each couple got their own floor), and it made for a really great, relaxing long weekend away from all of our kids.

Not sure what the issue was the week before. Other than a few ladybugs (which I’ve been dealing with in my own home as of late), the place was perfect.

As long as our little group is up for another long weekend next year, I’m sure we’ll be touch to see about renting your place again.

The house was great! Everything was just as promised. Lots of room, great views and close to Somerset. Lots to do and a very nice and homey place to come back to at the end of the day. We would definitely go back!

Views, peaceful and hiking galore!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed with my wife and two daughters at this well-appointed home on the Cumberland for a quick weekend getaway at the end of April 2017. Bedrooms were large and the beds comfortable. Kitchen and living room area has vaulted ceilings to the top floor bedroom area which makes the area full of light and feel even bigger than it already is. TONS of hiking trails within a short drive of the home and Cumberland Falls is a quick 35 min away. Town of Somerset has brand new Kroger Marketplace (even has a Sushi bar) so your grocery, alcohol and coffee needs are well taken care of. Home and resort is tucked 6 miles of back road from the main roadway, so if you arrive at night like we did, be ready (and careful) for the tight curves. Daytime navigation is fine. If you use Google Maps, it only takes you yo the gate, so follow the instructions provided by the owners after that. If you have a boat, there's a boat ramp right in the resort. Each "neighborhood" in the resort area is gated, so it felt very safe. WiFi at the house was fine for our 4 devices. TV is cable, so we didn't miss any shows or playoffs. Only thing is that cell service past the gate is spotty at best, so ensure you hook up to the wifi and turn on call/text over wifi if you dont own an apple device. There is a house phone too. Lastly, and most imoortantly, owners are VERY welcoming and accommodating!

Monica usually answered questions within an hour even though the expectation is within 12 hours on HomeAway. They also provided their cell phone numbers for quicker turn around if needed. We will definitely be back!

Rainy but Remarkable Weekend

  • 5 of 5

My family and I planned a weekend trip to Lake Cumberland...and chose to stay at this house. We are SO glad that we did. It was rainy...but we still had a great time. The rooms are large, the beds are comfortable, and the view is beautiful. Everything was very nice and clean...and we appreciated the owners' thoughtfulness (i.e., providing games, cookware, etc.). A highchair and Pack-n-Play were also there for our use. My only suggestion is for families with young children - you may want to bring an extra-wide baby gate. We brought one standard baby gate to block the stairway from my 18 month old...but it was not nearly wide enough to cover the gap between the wall and rail. This caused us to have to place 3 chairs and/or the Pack-n-Play in the gap...which was somewhat inconvenient. With that said, we would absolutely book this house again. We are already talking about how pretty the view would be this Fall.

Beautiful home with an outstanding view!

  • 5 of 5

We had a glorious week here during our Spring Break! The house was very accommodating, was easy to find, was clean and beautiful, spacious, and the beds were super comfy. The icing on the cake was the pool table and hot tub. We brought the kids gaming system and set them up in the finished basement. They loved it. The view was even better than expected; the Red Bud trees were in bloom everywhere. We enjoys much-needed R&R on the deck. Day trips included Cumberland Falls, Yahoo Falls, and the educational Blue Heron mining village in Big South Fork. We had a blast!

beautiful home

Our family fit in this house perfectly. You were not able to get off the back decks without coming into the house. Perfect for our small grandkids that wanted to play outside. We could watch them from the windows and doors. Wonderful space.
