Holiday 2023

The best property stayed in so far. As always it was the little things that made the difference. We are tidy people, but always say that if provide the 'tools' to keep things tidy then it helps everybody. Did fear that the local hounds may be an issue but after their 'chorus' at about 2000 each night they piped down after an hour - naturally the Great Danes were fine, it was the chihuahuas kicking it off. Overall a great week

Coole Villa mit Style und excellentem Gastgeber

Wir waren als Familie mit 3 Kindern in Francks Haus. Der check in lief unkompliziert über eine lokale Ansprechperson. Der Vermieter ist selbst nicht in der Gegend hat sich aber regelmäßig erkundigt ob alles geklappt hat und wir zufrieden sind. Das waren wir auch👍 Alles ist sehr sauber, moderne mit einem leicht extravaganten Einrichtungsstil. Praktisch waren viele Reise Journale über Portugal (auf Französisch). Der Pool ist toll und dahinter gibt es sogar einen eigenen kleinen Pinienwald der zum Haus gehört. Einziges kleines Manko waren die oft laut und anhaltend bellenden Nachbarshunde die dort als Wachhunde gehalten werden und auf dem Nachbargrundstück sind auch wenn die Eigentümer nicht da sind. Dafür kann Franck natürlich nichts, man sollte aber nachts die Fenster schließen um nicht mitten in der Nacht geweckt zu werden. Ansonsten ist aber alles top. Im Untergeschoss sind noch Pool und Strand Utensilien, wie bspw body boards, die man auch benutzen darf. Das Haus ist etwas abgelegen was uns gut gefallen hat. Die nächsten Strände sind praia de Mira und praia de tocha (ca 20min), nach Figueira da foz sind es 30min, nach Aveiro/Costa Nova 45min und nach Porto ca 1h. Wir würden es auf jeden Fall wieder buchen wenn wir nochmal in dieser Gegend Urlaub machen wollen

Wonderful House and Stay

We had an amazing week in Franck's beautiful home. The photos looked great when we were looking for a house in Portugal but the reality is very different and the house looks so much better when you are there. We were a family of 4 and had three large double bedrooms which all had air-conditioning. The house is incredibly well equipped with everything you would need for a great holiday. The terrace has a built-in BBQ and plenty of seating. The pool area is amazing too with plenty of sun throughout the day. Cantenhede is a great base for trips to Porto, Aveiro (a delightful place), Coimbra and the beaches of Mira and Tocha. The beaches are a 20 minute drive away and we found Praia da Tocha easier in terms of parking and beach access. The natural spring lake at Praia Fluvial dos Olhos da Fervença is an extraordinary place and a 5 minute drive from the house. Franck was an excellent host and answered any questions immediately. We also met with Elisabeth who lives locally and looks after the house for Franck - very friendly and spoke amazing English and French. A highly recommended place for a holiday and we hope to return one day.
