About the property

Welcome to Hutchison Station, our renovated 1890’s train depot. Explore the horse farms, Bourbon trail and central KY while staying on our working thoroughbred horse farm right in the heart of the bluegrass.

Hutchison Station was part of the L&N railroad system between 1890 and 1950 with passenger and freight service between Lexington and Paris. It was the center of the local community and included a post office, 2 blacksmith shops, general store and cattle pens.

Hutchison station is divided into two ground floor apartments. The “Limerick” (named for Lisa’s event horse) has hardwood flooring throughout, 12’ ceilings and is furnished with local handcrafted and antique furniture. The Limerick has two en-suite bedrooms each with a king size bed. The living area includes counter seating for four plus table seating for four.

Hutchison station is approx half way between Lexington and Paris-

• 10 minutes to downtown Paris.

• 15 minutes to the Kentucky Horse Park

• 20 minute to downtown Lexington.

John-George and Sadie our miniature donkeys happily accept treats.

Impeccable & perfect location!

Great location for relaxing, feeding/petting horses, snapping 100s of photos and being perfectly situated within 15-20 minutes of many destination points, stores, restaurants & university. The owners are great folks and take care & pride in their property! Extremely spacious bedrooms & family room - nice touch to be greeted by a vase of fresh flowers & chocolate cookies! The website pictures give the impression of two stories but everything is on ground level. Also, there are some very old Google street photos floating around that show the building in a condition before renovation - ignore those photos! Enjoy & Have Fun!

Charmingly renovated, we were welcomed with flowers and cookies

My Mother, Cousin, and I felt comfortable right from the start. Steve was a patient, flexible host, working around my work schedule on check out day. Walks down the lane to the barn in the evenings provided a relaxing end to the day. The ladies enjoyed watching the horses in the fields too. A peaceful stay - we highly recommend it.

Fantastic property on a gorgeous setting!

This beautifully renovated train station is on a gorgeous horse farm about half way between Lexington and Paris, Kentucky in a beautiful area full of horse farms. Fresh flowers were on the table and home baked cookies were on the counter top when we arrived and made us feel very welcome. The interior of the renovated train station is beautiful with high end fixtures, beautiful crown molding, gorgeous floors, and lovely furniture. It looks exactly like the pictures. There are four Adirondack chairs in the yard we enjoyed sitting in to watch the donkeys, John George and Sadie, and all the horses and foals. We loved walking to the barn to see the horses, standing at the pasture fences to admire the horses, feeding the donkeys and horses apples and carrots, and just relaxing in the yard taking in all the beauty. We would love to come back and stay longer! Steve and Lisa are great hosts and very quick to respond to questions.

Highest Quality Accommodations

This historic property has been lovingly remodeled with impeccable quality and taste. We were completely impressed.

The setting is stunning! You can just look out the window and watch the thoroughbreds graze. Our two 8 year old girls loved visiting Lisa's barn and seeing the foals. The donkeys were a hit, too. Easy travel to Lexington, Keeneland, etc.

Great art, fantastic beds, lovely antiques. Cannot say enough about this VRBO! Can't wait to return.
