Why Sylvie Alberti chose Beaune area

We recently renovated this beautiful house with character while preserving its beautiful thick stone walls from Burgundy (both inside and outside).

Stairs with banister leads to the “sleeping area” and to the shower rooms.

The house is surrounded by a large garden planted with trees and its terrace enjoys panoramic views over the vines and the woods.

We just have renovated this beautiful house of character nineteenth century former wine preserving its beautiful and thick stone walls of Burgundy (inside and outside), authentic beams and floors.

Stairs with a ramp leading to the space 'night' and shower rooms.

The house is well insulated to accommodate comfortably as the WINTER & SUMMER.

It's surrounded by a large garden and terrace offers panoramic views of the vineyards and woods.

Rating 4 Star 'Dwelling' 'charming' and 'Vineyards and Discoveries'

What makes this house unique

We arranged this charming cottage with top of the range services (WI-FI, Air conditioning, TV with International Channels, electric gate ) as if it was for us : modern comfort and quietness in an enchanting and relaxing setting.

From the terrace, sat on the garden sofas, you will admire the sunsets while enjoying a glass of Burgundy with friends or in family.

The house is well insulated to accommodate comfortably as the WINTER & SUMMER.

Great place in a great location

  • 4 of 5

Our cottage in Marey lès Fussey was very nice and in a good location for visiting the region. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard and offers you the usual home comforts. The owners Sylvie and Marc were very friendly and helpful.

Perfect holiday in idyllic surroundings

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful holiday in this well appointed and stylish gite in the beautiful Burgundy countryside. Sylvie and Marc could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The gite is even more comfortable than it seems in the pictures , as everything is impeccably clean and all the fittings are of a very high quality. Every convenience has been thought of and we loved all the recommended restaurants and attractions which we tried. Our children particularly enjoyed the natural pools in Beaune, while we enjoyed visits to the Pommard and Aloze Corton chateaux. An advantage of this property is that although it is in a very quiet position, it is also very convenient to get to Nuits St Georges and Beaune, so you are not cut off and can easily get to shops and restaurants if you want to.

We were delighted to meet you and share with you, "our" Burgundy ! And sincerely hope to see you again. Our friendship to you all !

Perfect house, beautifully located

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful house, situated in a charming (and very quiet) village 10-15 mins from all the major sites in the wine region that we wanted to visit.

The owner, Sylvie (and Marc) were very welcoming and helpful at all times, giving us recommendations for restaurants and wine tastings etc, and helped us enormously in getting our bike fixed in the local town.

The house is stunning and was probably the best equipped rental we have ever stayed in. The house is really well laid out for sharing couples or families (with the top two rooms having some privacy from the bedroom on the first floor - each floor with its own bathroom). The living room and kitchen area is very large, with a really comfortable sitting area, as well as full size dining table. The kitchen was immaculately clean, well equipped and really modern and new. We made use of the all terrain bikes available also.

The main attraction however was the gorgeous deck with seating outside, overlooking the vineyard and fields. It was a haven in the heat (we enjoyed very hot weather) using the umbrella when it got too hot. Even on overcast days the evenings in Marey les Fussey were delightful being able to sit outside for dinner with fabulous views. We also tried our hand at pétanque.

The wine region was amazing to visit, surprisingly small enough to navigate very easily (by car and bike). The walks and cycles through the vineyards will remain in our memories for a long time. Needless to say, we enjoyed the wine tasting enormously (and did a great informal tasting in the village that Sylvie helped us arrange).

If you want a rural location, with peace and tranquillity but close enough to explore all the main sites this house is perfect.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for writing your review on your stay in our house "Aux Vignes de Marey" in Burgundy. I was happy to welcome you and share with you, "good" addresses our beautiful region. I'm delighted that you enjoyed the panoramic view of the vineyards and woods (as you said, we must view REEL because the photos did not assess the size), the amenities of home, equipment and especially near the best sights like : Nuits Saint Georges, Beaune, Meursault, Dijon... Although former dependency of a wine house with its beautiful Burgundy stone 19th century, we wished that vacationers can have all the comfort essential today (international TV channels, internet, air conditioning, kitchen- fully equipped ...). We will be delighted to see you again for future holidays. Again thank you for choosing our house ! Best whishes. Sylvie

A beautifully appointed and tranquil cottage with wonderful views over rolling vineyards.

  • 5 of 5

Sylvia and Marc, the owners, have created a beautifully modern, but characterful, home from home in a stunning location. They are attentive, yet discrete, hosts; intent on making your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

This made the Gite Marey les Fussey an ideal base from which to explore the heartlands of Burgundy.

Looking forward to returning!!

Quiet Luxury Midst The Vines

  • 5 of 5

We enthusiastically give Sylvie and Marc, hosts of this property, the best reviews for their warm welcome and the quality of the Gite. On Gite scoring this would be "5 epis".

This was our 3rd visit to Burgundy and this is a terrific location for all that it has to offer. Beaune, Dijon and the very close Nuits-St.-Georges are very accessible. You can walk from the property to the nearby villages or disappear into the forests and the vines via paths and randonees.. We also took advantage of the backyard petanque court and simply relaxed in the lawn and patio as we enjoyed the views over the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines.

We have rented probably 15 houses (some more than once) in France over the past dozen years and this one is tops with respect to bedding, bathrooms, appliances, kitchen and overall comfort. From the outside, it blends in with the older traditional stone structures of the hamlet. Inside there are only a few beams and stone walls that suggest the home is anything but modern and bright.

Finally, we are cautious about renting when the owners have been adjacent as we value our privacy. That is not a problem and proved to be a blessing on more than one occasion when we had a question. The communication we had before, during and after our visit was most professional, certainly, but also warm and welcoming. And, when we arrived at the end of an 8 hour drive from the Midi-Pyrenees, being greeted with a welcome basket of local products(including wine) was as appreciated as the recommendation for a nearby restaurant and their calling to make the reservation for us.

Thank you for everything. We plan on returning!

Owner's Response: What a joy to read, this morning, your delicious appreciation about your stay, the house and Burgundy. Thank you very much for your sincerity. I'm glad you had a good holiday in our house, and that you enjoyed the comfort, the brightness and the modern facilities. Although this is an "old" from 1872, which has good "character", we have not hesitated to modernize, creating many openings to the outside, to offer the best, at the holidaymakers : namely, panoramic views of the vineyards ! As I say every week to newcomers, I'm committed to you to have a good holiday. The property is very large, I come to you only if you need. In order to respect your privacy. This is, for me, the most important ! I'm happy to know that you want to return in our cottage. We look forward to welcoming you a next time !

Extraordinary Wine Country Home

  • 5 of 5

If you are planning a trip to France to experience the "wine of kings" in the heart of Burgundy, there are no finer accommodations than Sylvie's amazing home in the village of Marey les Fussey just north of Beaune. I never knew there was anything this beautiful and modern in the area but Sylvie's place was nothing short of top-shelf comfort. Three spacious bedrooms all with queen beds, two full baths upstairs and a powder room downstairs, fully appointed kitchen, modern leather couches in the living area and a view of the vineyards off the deck made for a week where we felt like kings of the castle. Sylvie is the ultimate hostess and will help you with local restaurants and anything else you might be looking for during your stay. She pointed us to a small village restaurant only 10 minutes away on our first night where steaks were being prepared on an open flame and the wine list offered nice Burgundy at a reasonable price. We had a phenomenal time. I can't recommend this property highly enough because I'm still blown away at how beautiful it is. If you're anywhere near the Cote d'Or and choose not to stay here, you should really see a doctor. There just isn't anything like it!
