About the property

Ideal place to relax, to the sound of the stream. Great hiking nearby.

This cozy chalet is nested in a wooded area, with a stream right out back. A great location for lovers of nature and the outdoors. Great hiking nearly and the chalet is short distance from the best skiing in north central Vermont, Smuggler's Notch.

It is newly renovated and has a well equipped kitchen as well as an outdoor grill. It has one double bed and two single bed (trundle deb), clean linen and towels are provided.

The village of Jeffersonville is approx. 5 miles away and it offers restaurants, grocery shopping and other conveniences. In summer, when the 108 South Route is open through the notch, Stowe is accessible through a picturesque route.

A little gem in the woods

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect location for our family of four and two dogs. We attended a family wedding at the Barn at Smuggler's Notch on Oct 1. Almost everyone attending rented in Smuggler's Notch resort, but we wanted to bring our dogs. The chalet is right across the road from Smuggs (an easy walk or drive). The Barn at Smuggler's is a short drive up the road. The chalet has comfortable beds, more than ample linens and towels, parking for two or three cars if necessary, and a clean and well-equipped kitchen. FYI - the stairs are a bit steep, but not an issue for any of us. We barricaded the steps to keep the dogs downstairs. We would definitely return. Thanks for being the perfect location for our long weekend!

Great place to get away

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for two evenings. Was a great location, convenient to Stowe and surrounding communities. The babbling creek adjacent to the property was relaxing to listen to while enjoying a morning cup of coffee. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to avoid overpriced hotels and resorts.

The perfect Vermont getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time staying at the Chalet and it did not disappoint! We absolutely love the location and the proximity to so many great hiking trails in the Notch and elsewhere. Also, being right across the road from Smuggs base lodge is great, they have a lot of fairs and activities going on throughout the summer and also have a great little food market and coffee shop in case you forget any essentials! Our favorite part though is how private the property feels and the stream that runs behind the house. You truly feel like you are in a cabin in the woods and falling asleep listening to the rushing of the stream every night is really magical. The chalet is always clean and ready for us and the owner is very helpful and responsive if you ever need help with anything. It is a great size for the two of us and our dog but would also be great for a small family. In the spring, summer and fall it's only a short 10 minutes or so to Stowe and all the restaurants, shops and breweries (The Alchemist!) on that side of the notch. It was also nice to get to explore more on the North side of the notch, we had an amazing breakfast in Jeffersonville. We also hiked the sunset ridge trail on the back side of Mt. Mansfield which was unbelievable. The views from the top were breathtaking, it is definitely the best hike we have ever done in Vermont. I'm so happy we came back another summer to the Chalet and hope to do it again next year!

Relaxing getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful time at the chalet! Theres plenty to do in the area for all ages. We enjoyed many breweries and delicious restaurants, but there's also kayaking, zip lining, and other outdoor adventures within a 30 minute ride. The cabin was PERFECT. We were able to go out during the day and come back and relax on the porch with the sounds of the creek in the background. We were also able to cook for ourselves in the cabin with all of the kitchen amenities provided. It's the perfect place to unwind without sacrificing the comforts of home. This was exactly what we were looking for, thank you so much!
