About this property

In a strategic position, reachable with the urban bus, between the church of Saint Claire and the monastery of Saint Damian. We have all the advantages of living in the center, but no problems: no difficulty of access or parking! 2000 square meters of private olive grove touching the historic city walls (we will taste our organic olive oil). This was not a vacation home: the two apartments on the lower level are very equipped, furnished with family furniture. We live on the top floor.

Fantastic Assisi

The hosts were very friendly and helpful when we had a car problem. The accommodation was ideal for seeing the sights without being on the main tourist path.

Wonderful stay

We stayed in the apartment for 10 days and is was wonderful. The apartment is very nice, well equipped (even with airco, not often necessary: the apartment is in an building with thick walls, and in itself well isolated). Assisi is very nice, especially in the evening when most daytrip-tourists are gone;we took our daily gelato at the then quite Piazza Santa Chiara, with a beautiful view on the surrounding landscape. It is was very convenient that next to the apartment at the public parking there is an esculatorr that brings you up to the level of the old city. Assisi is also a perfect spot from where you can discover Umbria.

Easy access apartment.

The apartment is so easy to get to and just at the town wall so that you can walk to all the sites. Angela and her family were welcoming and helpful. We ate out so cannot comment on the kitchen, and the weather was cold and damp so we didn’t get to enjoy the property.

Gute Lage, schönes Haus, leider auch Mängel

Unser Eindruck von dieser Ferienwohnung war überwiegend positiv. Die Nähe zur Altstadt von Assisi, das schöne alte Haus mit dem hübschen Garten und dem Olivenhain, die gute Erreichbarkeit vieler wunderschöner Städte in Umbrien von Perugia bis Spoleto, die Freundlichkeit der Gastgeber.. Aber es gab auch ein paar Negativpunkte zu dieser Wohnung. Der Essraum bzw. Wohnraum war eher ein Durchgangszimmer und lieblos eingerichtet, Töpfe und Pfannen in der Küche zerbeult und fast nicht nutzbar, die Terasse eng, nur ein Zugang zur Wohnung und dazu noch unmittelbar an einen riesigen Parkplatz gelegen. Etwas zu modernisieren und die Küchenausstattung zu erneuern täte der Wohnung gut. Ansonsten: Keine schlechte Wahl, nicht nur für Franziskus-Fans.

Situation idéale pour visiter Assise

Dans une grande maison en pierre de taille entourée d’arbres, appartement bien équipé avec tout le confort nécessaire; connexion Wifi rapide et sécurisée. Calme et tranquillité. Petit balcon pour prendre des repas. Situation exceptionnelle au pied des remparts; on y accède en 5 minutes par les escaliers mobiles. Parking privé. La propriétaire nous a accueillis chaleureusement en français et nous a fourni des informations sur Assise. Here lived the great-grandparents and grandparents and now we are a four-people family, we love travelling and meeting other cultures. The children are often traveling, doing experiences in other cities and countries. We think that living in Assisi was a privilege and now we want to partage it with some guests! We love Umbrian art, traditions and nature. We love gardening, and enriched our garden with many flowers and aromatic plants.

Why they chose this property

Assisi is worth the trip: a town of history, faith, art, a symbol of peace for the still living presence of St. Francis, it's in the very center of Umbria, the green heart of Italy. From here you can reach other jewels of the region such as Spoleto, Spello, Perugia, Todi, Gubbio, Bevagna, Orvieto, Montefalco, Norcia, the Trasimeno lake and many more, as well as Firenze, Roma, Arezzo, Urbino, the Frasassi caves and many more.
Ancestors built our home on an olive grove in 1925. They designed a villa in brick and stone having loggias, terraces and arch windows looking at the town and at the surrounding garden. From 2004 we inherited the property and have moved here.

What makes this property unique

After various events, we have made a careful restoration, respecting the charm of the old house. The location allows you to appreciate both the beauty of the monuments both the landscape, between city and countryside. In our olive grove, sunny and sheltered, you can hear the tolling of the bells of the monastery of Santa Chiara but also maybe find pheasants, squirrels, hedgehogs or fireflies!
