Its all good.
Everything present and correct for a very comfortable stay in a beautiful hideaway surrounded by the often overlooked northern fells.
Really enjoyed trip-great cottage in a great spot
Only downside was cramped parking-Not much turning circle which meant I had to reverse out of cul de sac a couple of times. Everything else tip top though
Beautiful looking cottage in idyllic setting
Dale Cottage is located in the heart of the North Lakes surrounded by beautiful scenery. It is comfortable and well equipped with a lovely log fire. It has a wooden spiral staircase ( need to take care on this) leading to 2 bedrooms and a very small bathroom. The garden is beautifully laid out and has beautiful views and lots of visiting birds.
Dale Cottage, a lovely break.
As a first visit to The Lakes, we weren't sure what to expect but we needn't of worried. The views and experiences were breath taking, along with the standard of accommodation delivered at Dale Cottage. The positioning was perfect as were not ones for busy towns, but any requirements were met either locally or a short drive away. The cottage is also well equipped and is just so pretty and cosy.
It was lovely to use the bird seed (provided) to fill the feeder and to watch the visits from a range of beautiful birds. we also had a regular morning visit from a cheerful Robin. Also, useful information on the pin board in the kitchen and the vast selection of maps and books on the Lake District.
A huge thank you to Rod and Sue for making our visit so welcoming and comfortable. We would love to come again.
Peaceful and convenient location with good facilities
Lovely as usual but not as clean as our last visit.certain areas very dusty.did not clean under settees.kitchen cupboards need cleaning.out of date food which made it smell musty.overall we do love the cottage and location.
The village is surrounded by stunning hills and woods and there are six lovely lakes within 5 miles. You might also enjoy the great facilities for outdoor activities at Whinlatter Forest: Go-Ape, mountain biking courses, childrens' adventure play area.
In Cockermouth you will find the beautiful house where Wordsworth was brought up and in Keswick the Theatre- by- the- Lake offers a wonderful programme of drama and arts.
