Gentle Winds, St. Croix, U.S.V.I. - come unwind!

Gentle Winds is a private, gated community located on the beautiful North Shore of St Croix. This 65 unit, 66 acre community is nestled between the mountains of St Croix and the turquoise Caribbean Sea. This location not only provides a peaceful setting with a backdrop of the best nature has to offer, but also between 5 and 15 minutes away you have a large variety of restaurants, diving, fishing, 2 world class golf courses, kayaking, horseback riding, rain forest exploring, tidal pool wading, hiking, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, casino (on the other side of the island), shopping, and many more opportunities to explore all that the island has to offer.

Gentle Winds' entrance is beautifully lined in 30 year old massive palm trees, planted after the last major hurricane to hit the island, making for a grand entrance. The development of Gentle Winds offers a large sandy beachfront area with lounge chairs nestled under Palm frond cabanas and hammocks for napping! The beach has a roped off swimming area with a sandy ocean bottom perfect for swimming and is protected by a coral reef that provides for fantastic snorkeling.

The saltwater swimming pool, newly renovated in 2013, is located beachfront, steps from the sand. There are also many lounge chairs and tables poolside, perfect for enjoying lunch and a tropical drink from the onsite beach shack. This popular gathering place, which is open most days and every day in the high season, serves burgers, fish, wraps, fries, salads, and made to order drinks along with daily specials.

For sports fans, Gentle Winds has on site the following amenities ( without charge) : 2 tennis courts, basketball, shuffleboard, 3 chipping greens, and indoor ping-pong. The clubhouse offers a reading library, restrooms, and seating for relaxing, socializing, and dining.

The property is beautifully maintained by full time staff and onsite manager, and all condominiums are privately owned. There are nine three story buildings and ours is located in the very middle of the entire grouping. Our condo is on 2 levels, with a spiral staircase leading to the master suite and its king size bed. The second level also has a loft with a pull out sofa which converts to a double bed and 2 rooftop patios with lounge chairs for sunning and stargazing. The main floor has a bedroom with 2 twin size beds, and the third bedroom has a queen size bed. The full kitchen has all you need to prepare meals, with a dining table, and opens to a living room with a cathedral ceiling. The screened lanai with patio furniture allows for fresh air dining and a tremendous view of the azure sea. The condo has cable TV, high speed internet, a washer and dryer in the unit, and central AC, if you need it. The excellent cross breeze and 4 ceiling fans will keep you cool at night and you may find you don't need the AC. The included WiFi can be used throughout the property, including the pool area and beach.
