The most restful holiday I’ve ever had!

  • 5 of 5

My foster child, my dog and I needed a complete test from our busy lives, and this was the perfect spot. We took everything we needed - our food, wrapped presents and clothing, everything - and we had the most wonderful time. We woke up on Christmas morning to a glorious carpet of snow and apart from a couple of little trips to neighboring towns and a winter hike every day, we rested and cooked and had great meals together with friends who visited us. Even my city-boy foster child loved it after the first couple of days whining about having nothing to do! The Lodge was decorated for us with a Christmas tree and fragrant pine boughs and Roy and Barb made sure we had all we needed. We never wanted to leave! Thanks so much, Roy and Barb.

great place for walks and rest

  • 5 of 5

Very quiet and peaceful place, ideal for walks, with or without your dog! The nearby Nature park is certainly worth exploring, and the restaurant on the lake. Very friendly people. A real gem.

Comfortable Farmhouse

  • 5 of 5

This is a great farmhouse on a private lane. We took our daughter and son-in-law and three children, along with our dog on vacation. This property is very close to Raystown Lake, Rainbow Falls, Suspension Bridge and Balance Rock. Also you can check out the Ice Mine. Great location. The kids had a blast playing in the creek. Our dog played ball with "everybody". The guys cooked breakfast and dinner every morning and night over an open fire in a fire pit across the lane. We did use the gas grill for burgers one night, too. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Owners are very nice and so accommodating. We had wood stacked for our next fire when we came back from our days festivities. Awesome! Thank you Barb and Roy!

A house with character in a beautiful, peaceful setting!

  • 5 of 5

Owners are very accommodating, house is clean and is a renovated farmhouse with lots of character and a gorgeous deck with a roof and a gas grill. Nice farmhouse/lodge decor inside. AC works well. Property is well maintained & in a relaxing, peaceful setting with opportunities to enjoy nature & see deer. Potential renters should be aware that the washer and dryer is in the farmhouse cellar. The steps from the kitchen to the cellar are a bit daunting, but there is an outside entrance to the cellar (not a storm cellar door but a regular door). Also, there is one full bathroom on the main level with a shower, sink, and toilet and one partial bathroom on the 2nd level that has only a toilet. All bedrooms (3) are upstairs. House is stocked with good dinnerware, kitchen utensils, pots & pans, coffee maker, microwave, full-size refrigerator & stove/oven as well as basic pantry items. Instructions for access to Wi-Fi & satellite TV (on main level) are provided. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again!! Owners are very nice and are concerned that you have what you need and are comfortable.
