Lovely home and perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

My mom, sister and I enjoyed our stay in Olivier's attractive home. It was clean, organized and comfortable. (We only wish there were screens on the windows because it got very stuffy inside when the weather was warm, and we were not able to keep windows/doors open in case local cats came in to visit and mark :O ) The pool was wonderful and we enjoyed sitting on the deck in the afternoons. Having a parking space was great as well, because it was safe and meant we didn't have to search!

The location of the house was terrific. On a residential street, with little to no traffic, it was SO quiet! And, just a block away from shops, restaurants and the beautiful Place au Herbes, the lovely plaza where you can find the farmer's market, restaurants, flower market, and shops. The farmers' market was wonderful with very delicious produce. I don't remember the last time I had berries that sweet and flavorful.

We loved Uzes. It's a bit off the beaten track, a bit unknown in terms of Provencal towns. That's wonderful because generally, it means fewer tourists. It's close to many wonderful places to explore (including the Pont du Gard, Arles, Avignon, Nimes, and the Camargue). We especially enjoyed the Gypsy Caravan Museum which was interesting and unusual.

Olivier is a wonderful host, very approachable and very responsive.

Even better than we expected

  • 5 of 5

Top quality in every way. Location is fantastic, in an atmospheric street with a boulangerie just a minute's walk away (and many more further afield). The town is gorgeous. We parked the car in the nearby secure parking on the day we arrived and didn't move it for the whole week, which is most unlike us. We were happy to walk around town, enjoy the buildings, cafes, restaurants and bars, and of course stay at the house. It is too lovely to leave. The furnishings and fittings are all top quality, very contemporary behind the historic facade. The pool is not really for 'playing' - it's as pictured, quite narrow but bigger than we expected. I would say this house is for adults and teenagers not so much for children. It looks as if another building in the garden is being converted so it will sleep 8 very comfortably. The 'annexe' at the end of the garden is lovely and means that more than one couple can stay here and be quite private and independent whilst sharing the garden and the larger dining and lounge facility as they wish. Highly recommend, and Olivier and his local representatives are a pleasure to deal with.

Contemporary luxury meets Uzes tradition

  • 5 of 5

We were so impressed by Olivier's house when we stayed in October 2015, we booked to come back 5 months later. We have been coming to Uzes for several years but never expected to find a property of this quality with a heated pool in the heart of the town. Behind a deceptively unremarkable facade, the house literally hides a wonderful contemporary designed interior within a traditional Uzes stone building. The high ceilings of the ground floor dining and kitchen area forms the hub of property with a lovely shaded patio area outside en route to the modern pool and peaceful, quiet garden space. We did not use the studio but it is designed to an equally contemporary and high standard: ideal for larger families to holiday together, offering some welcome living distance between parents and any (older) teenage children. The location of the house is ideal: so close to everything you could want in Uzes. The street is quiet and there is private parking. Olivier made the booking process very smooth and easy and Annie is a lovely housekeeper, completing arrival and departure admin with efficiency and good humour. We will definitely return!

An oasis in the heart of town

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 2 weeks in Olivier's beautiful home in Uzes and it was a perfect base for our time exploring the area. The house is located just a few minutes walk from the square at the heart of town and as a result it was very easy to head out to get any supplies, or for a meal at any of the many good restaurants in town. It was also a treat to pop out each morning to go pick up the bread from the selection of the boulangerie's up the road! It was just my husband and I in the house for some of the time and we also had 2 other family members join us. Although it was more space than 2 people would need, we loved the layout and it's perfectly suited to having multiple couples staying. Many a good glass of french wine was shared at the big dining table downstairs or out by the lovely pool area. Uzes is a very close drive (or bus ride) to a lot of main tourist sights in the region, and it has the bonus of being just large enough to have all the amenities you need but not so big that you loose the lovely small local village feel. Like many others have said, we hope to return again soon!

Blissful centre of town

  • 5 of 5

Like all the other reviews we (5 of us) were instantly impressed as soon as we were shown in the door.....WOW! The house is in the heart of Uzes however you would not be aware of that once you close the doors - lying by the pool you could have believed that you were isolated way out in the countryside. The house itself is large, spacious and very well equipped with plenty of chairs, loungers etc if you need/want your own space. We particularly enjoyed the balcony off the main bedroom suite....very nice and handy for a "sun-downer" before heading off into town to sample the delights of the many restaurants. We also ate in well as we enjoyed shopping in the markets and bakeries...such a great choice. Uzes is also central to visit the surrounding area......however, you really do have to pull yourself away from enjoying the house in order to do that. We were all thoroughly relaxed in the home from home - when you have busy and stressful professions it's great to find a place like this to "chillax"....

Many thanks Olivier for such a great stay - we greatly appreciate all your help.

Fantastic contemporary design/modern living!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a fabulous stay in Uzes and without question this is our favourite property that we have rented. As previously mentioned it is close to the centre of town but once behind the doors you could be miles away. Blissfully quiet and amazingly convenient to everything you need.

We never tired of the spectacular entrance and it is fitted with all the modern conveniences you could wish for - fast wifi, bluetooth connection to the seven channel stereo, satellite TV with on demand services if you require them, decent kitchen, coffee machine etc. etc. The property is large but we found ourselves using all the living areas despite it just being the two of us. The pool area is lovely.

It is a cliche but the photos really don't do this house justice, we never tired of the grand view on entrance to the property

Uzes itself is a lovely town, plenty of nice bars and restaurants and access to some of the finest produce I have eaten. I hope we can return in the near future, I can't recommend this property highly enough.

My wish is always to have visitors feeling in my place as in their home and when it comes people do so it cannot make me more happy. You are welcome back whenever you want, each year there are new things to discover. Thanks again.
