The unit could use a good deep clean. The floors were pretty dirty and there were smears on walls/mirrors. Linens and bedding were all very clean. There is a large construction project unfolding right across from the unit. This meant for early morning noise, even on Saturday. This project looks to be going on for the next few months. There was no mention of this construction in the listing. The property manager was terrific, very communicative and easy to reach. The unit worked well for 3 adult couples, loved the space that each couple had.

BEDBUGS!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!

I rented this property with 4 of my friends for 3/14-3/18/24, and we had to leave in the middle of the very first night after one of my friends woke up to BEDBUGS crawling all over her pillow!! All 5 of us proceeded to take pictures and videos of bedbugs of various sizes crawling all over the twin bed closest to the bathroom. They were on the walls, INSIDE the pillow cases, under the sheets. My friend found dead bedbugs, shed skin and bedbug feces EMBEDDED in the mattress. These all are signs of a very established infestation; a lot of these bedbugs were BIG and dark colored, which means they had been there long enough to feed on people sleeping in that bed, and to breed the baby bedbugs we also saw. We tried calling Pam, no answer. We contacted the on-site manager Darrel who literally told us to "hunker down" for the night and deal with it. I called Vrbo, emailed them photos and videos; they moved us to new accommodations and later made Pam refund the entire amount paid for this reservation. While on the phone with Vrbo that night, we literally started to see ROACHES in the living space and kitchen. Don't believe the sign on the inside of the unit door; the roaches are already there!! We threw away clothes, shoes, luggage, to prevent bringing bedbugs home with us! My friend who slept in that bed has anxiety; we all do after this experience, and Pam even had the audacity to ask me not to mention this in my review. DO NOT stay here. Do not trust Pam or anything she says!!

From the mountains of Nevada to the beaches of Maui! We were just tired of the snow, being cold and all that shoveling! We made Maui our permanent home 14 years ago and haven't looked back!

Why they chose this property

We love Pacific Shores for many reasons. The people are friendly, the property is a short walk, conveniently located to everything, and it is clean and well maintained. The pool and jacuzzi area is open until 10pm. The best beaches on Maui are right across the street...so it is easy to get everywhere. In fact everything about Pacific Shores is easy, designated reserved close by parking, a glass elevator to take you to your floor. Also we as owners, are easy to get a hold of...we live 1/4 block down the street if you need anything at all, we are just a phone call away.

What makes this property unique

There are many Dive and Surf shops nearby. The 'cove', Kihei's "go to" surf spot for beginners and experts alike, is just a few blocks away. Here is where you can learn to surf, guaranteed to stand up the first day. Also, Stand Up Paddling, wind surfing, kite board, canoe and kayaking, snorkeling and scuba diving gear and lessons are available at the cove as well. Horseback riding is available at Makena Stables and there are 6 premier golf courses to choose from. Several luaus are held nearby. The Shops at Wailea are a mere 5 minute drive with top notch shopping and entertainment from 6-9pm on Wild Wailea Wednesdays...We are close to everything!
