There is lots to do in Whitby.

Whilst in Whitby you have to try the world famous fish and chips available from numerous cafes on the sea front. Whitby was the inspiration for Bram Stoker's novel Dracula which he wrote whilst staying at Whitby. On the hill there is the historic ruins of Whitby Abbey which was the inspiration for Carthax Abbey in Dracula. Whitby also has a sea faring history being the home of Captain Cook which there is a Captain Cook museum in which you can discover more about the legendary sea farer. At high season there is August Whitby Regatta when you can see some amazing ships and boats. At the life boat museum you can find about the various daring rescues performed by the Whitby lifeguards over the many years.

If music is your thing then Whitby is the place for you hosting the world famous Whitby Goth Weekend twice a year, the 1960s weekend, the Folk Festival, Jazz and Soul Festival plus you also get to hear music and see films at the Bram Stokers International Film Festival at Whitby.

All in all your stay at Wildgoose Cottage will be fun, memorable and one that will stay in your hearts and minds forever.

Perfect
A lovely little cottage with a lovely outlook to the sea and sometimes the neighbours cows at the fence looking back at you. The cottage is in a quiet peaceful location but only five minute drive to Whitby and all it has too offer. It is spotlessly clean, has a well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable Lounge, a very comfortable bed upstairs and ensuite with a great hot shower. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Beyond Whitby
This cottage was cosy and comfortable. To be honest, it is a good way out of Whitby, but the location has charms of its own, such as it’s proximity to the Abbey, the lighthouse and the Cleveland Way path.

Relaxing and cosy
Our short stay at wild goose cottage was very relaxing and although it was blowing a gale outside it was very cosy and warm. Everything you need is there and having no WiFi access was actually really good. I can thoroughly recommend a stay at Wildgoose cottage at anytime of the year if you’re looking to get away from it all and just relax.

Lovely Wildgoose Cottage
As a returning customer we knew what to expect. The cottage is lovely and superbly placed if you want peace and quiet. It is situated within a short walk from Whitby Abbey and Whitby Town itself if you want to count the steps down to the town. Its worth it but remember you have to walk back up them. We had a itinerary of day visits to fulfil. Don’t forget to visit the nearby Robin Hoods Bay and Staithes. We managed to fulfil them all. We cannot really fault it, there are a few very minor day to day maintenance problems, but we could live with them. All in all a great location and place to stay snd hopefully we will return again.
