About Toby Friesen
I grew up in Portland OR. I went to Portland Christian High School and PSU. I am self employed as a fitness consultant/trainer. I have 3 kids and a dog. I visited long beach for the first time in 2008, and ever since it has been the go to spot for my family to go on vacation. We love walking to the beach, setting up and hanging out for the day. Bon fires are a must at least once while we are here. I love discovery trail and walk, bike and skate on it every time I visit. I currently reside in Vancouver, WA.
Toby Friesen purchased this House in 2014
Why Toby Friesen chose Long Beach
I own a property close by. I wanted something a little bigger for when I came up with friends, so I decided to build it. Lots of natural light, hardwood floors, high beam ceilings, and large luxurious bathrooms. After 8 months of managing the project and doing a lot of the work myself I finally got to the point where it was ready to use. I picked this spot because I loved the quiet neighborhood, the privacy, and easy beach access.
What makes this House unique
Large open spaces for people to gather. Large and luxurious bathrooms. Comfortable bedrooms and custom log furniture throughout the house. A separate apartment for extra space, or visiting friends. Cost cutting and spread sheets are for corps, this home is a labor of love. It was designed with your vacation in mind, bring some clothes and food, the rest is here waiting for your arrival.

Somehow even better than the pictures
Good gravy, this was a fun house to stay at. It has everything. The garage is so much fun. The main area is spacious, bright and cozy. The bedrooms are large. Everything was delightful. We had a blast and hope very much to stay again.
Perfect House for Large Groups
This property was great! Easily fits a large group with plenty of room for people to do their own thing, or all be together. The downstairs bedrooms are a bit tight with queen size bunk beds, but it’s an easy trade off when you can fit two couples in a single room.
Great place for family to gather
We enjoyed are stay here. Warm and cozy with the large fireplace. Plenty of games, crafts, activities, movies to keep everyone busy. Beds were comfy and warm, bathrooms have nice showers and heated floors. The hot tub is clean and the outdoor shower with hot water was so refreshing! The location is great and we had fun mushroom hunting, clamming, and horseback riding. Loved having the long dining room table for all to eat together and plenty of seating in great room for everyone to relax. Dog friendly and kid friendly makes family friendly!
Beautiful House, Well organized!
We had a big group of old friends together (12 of us) for a long weekend. The house is in a great location in Long Beach.
Once you get into the house it is easy to settle in quickly and begin enjoying your vacation due to how well organized and intuitive everything is. Both the apartment and the house were great!
The kitchen is incredibly well stocked in terms of utensils and gadgets. Want to press potatoes into French fries? Grab the fry press! Want to make popsicles? Grab the popsicle molds! Want to bake cinnamon rolls from scratch? Pop out the kitchenaid mixer! We even found the clamming supplies in the garage which prompted us to get licenses and go get some razor clams to have with dinner!
Everything was put together thoughtfully and would be excellent for families and kids or a group of old buddies.
Definitely would stay here again!
It's more than nice bedrooms and the amazingly equipped kitchen.....
Yes, you can read the reviews about the number of bedrooms and their comfy beds, the spa-like showers, the incredible game room, the amazingly well-equipped (and organized) kitchen, the board game wall and the warm fireplace. All of these are true.
We use VRBO often and are usually very fortunate to select places that suit our family. The homes work for what we need. Nothing spectacular, but functional. This was different.
This house is built and equipped with your family (and mine) in mind. It's fun. It's functional. It feels luxurious, but homey. It's got gathering spaces but also private areas. It's unbelievably clean, yet does not feel so pristine that you can't have the kids there.
Bottom line? It feels like this house/home was built and is rented with love. Sappy? Perhaps. But it's true. It's everything you never knew you always needed.
We'll be back.
Couldn't ask for a better beach house
We've stayed at a lot of vacation rentals on the peninsula and this home is the most beautiful and well furnished and equipped by far. The owner has thought of absolutely everything you might need and want on a beach vacation. I can't stress this enough - the house has everything. I like to cook and typically bring my own knives and a couple pans that I prefer. I did the same this time because it was our first stay here, but now that I know how well equipped the kitchen is, there's no need to bring my own. And when I say equipped, I mean with nice quality Lodge cast iron, KitchenAid mixer, you name it. The kitchen is a delight to cook in.
Our family members ranged in age from 6 to 79 years, and there were activities for everyone. We really loved the game room which has a nice pool table that we all really enjoyed. There are also board games, puzzles, books, DVDs, and video games. The house is open enough to make some great memories with a large group of friends and family, but has enough little private places to get some space and quiet if you need to escape for a bit for some me-time.
The location is pretty much ideal - a beautiful quick walk on a path through dune grass to the beach, close to town (but not too close).
We loved how expansive the house feels. We loved the modern industrial mixed with the natural materials (stone and wood). The bedrooms and bathrooms feel like a modern luxury hotel. I found myself looking for tags on pillows so I can buy some for my own home.
The host, Toby, was super quick to respond to my questions, and was very gracious and easy going.
We loved our time here, it is pretty much the perfect beach house. Can't wait to stay again, maybe in the winter when it's stormy.
The long beach peninsula is just 2 miles wide has 30 miles of unbroken beach on the ocean side. Most of the beach is available via car if so desired. The bay side has wildlife refuges and oyster farming. The area was originally developed at the end of the 19th century as a getaway destination from Portland and Seattle and the local towns have many charming beach homes from that era. The area also has several state parks and the Lewis and Clark National park. The typical beach terrain is great for bicycling. Fishing, crabbing, clamming and wildlife viewing are available pastimes.
