Fabulous one bedroom flat in a rare quiet leafy street of Fulham!
Fabulous one bedroom flat in a rare quiet leafy street of Fulham! Beautiful garden to enjoy and sit out in. Everything one could need from pubs to food shops a 5 minute walk. Very clean and comfortable and a must for anyone looking for a vacation rental in the Fulham area..
Cozy aparment on quiet mews
This flat is lovely and very well-situated, with great artwork and a wonderful garden frequented by a spunky striped cat. Access to the Fulham high street, local amenities and Fulham-Broadway and West Brompton tube stations is amazing. The kitchen does not have a dishwasher, but is otherwise very well-equipped, better than most other places I've stayed. The property manager arranged for check-in with a real live human, who helped me get set up with wifi and find power switches, etc. I had a great stay and highly recommend this flat.
Super location for peaceful moments during a busy London stay
This one-bedroom garden apartment in Fulham was only a few blocks from the Fulham Broadway tube and all shopping (groceries, incidentals, restaurants) also walking distance. We were so glad to have found it, especially as we taxied and Uber-ed through London's congested center, which was simply over-flowing. The living room and garden easily accommodated visitors-- five friends fit fine. The garden was a highlight, allowing us moments of greenery and relative silence during free time. Good security features--allowed us peace of mind while away. Although there is a laundry, we did not use it--too complicated. We traveled to the property by Heathrow Express & tube with our heavy luggage by taking the Circle Line from Paddington to South Kensington and changing to the District Line there to avoid staircases. Some minor issues with internet, but only intermittent and for some reason limited to only one of our computers. The neighborhood was quiet, so although the bedroom window opens to the street, one can sleep. We had an excellent meal locally at Al Santo on Vanston Place--my Moussaka was exquisite-- and a great lunch at the local La Cote Brasserie, whose manager went out out of his way to accommodate some birthday festivities. We also enjoyed coffee and a light lunch at the local Cafe Ole--super service and fun decor if you sit in the back room inside. We walked to our friends' home--also in Fulham--and from there took rental bicycles along the Thames Path--beware the fine print, TFL Cycle Hire charged our credit card GBP 45 instead of the GBP 2.50 or so that is highlighted on the bicycle racks. The Thames Path itself is terrific cycling--local street traffic is a very different matter for U.S. tourists used to driving on the right.... In sum, we really appreciated this owner's opening his graceful and comfortable apartment to us via VRBO and Veeve, and hope we can return soon to just this spot.
The peacefulness of the garden allowed us to rest after a busy time at home and equally busy time in London.
Charming Garden Apartment in a Great Neighborhood
I am reluctant to give write a review of this wonderful find in Fulham only because I want to be selfish and keep it a secret for my family. But alas I doubt we will be going to London in the near future so I will share my thoughts. The apartment is a short walk to the tube, surrounded by great restaurants and close to three major grocery stores one of which is Whole Foods. The master bed is really comfy with great linens. The shower and water pressure in the whole apartment were better then our home back in California. The only problem is that the fan in the bathroom is on a timer so you cannot turn it off and at night it gets a little annoying. The kitchen has everything you could want. The bed in the living room was a little short for our six foot teenager, but he muscled through it. The garden was really the high point of our stay. It was so nice to be able to be outside and enjoy the birds and squirrels who live in the area. We had a few kinks in our stay and they were dealt with right away by the management company. We too ate at The Malt House a couple times. Another find was the Food Hall ( sorry can't remember the name) a couple doors down from the Tube stop that has about 8 different small restaurants in a large hall. Overall I would stay there again any time we visit London.
Thank you very much for your very full review. I am so glad you liked the flat, the garden and the whole area. Another time when you come you can turn the bathroom fan off with an isolator switch above and outside the bathroom door!
There are numerous restaurants and pubs in this area, just 3 minutes from you is a lovely gastro-pub named the Malt House, and the famous Harwood Arms pub. North End Road and Fulham Broadway offer a huge selection of dining options, shops and supermarkets (there is also a Whole Foods store close to the train station!). Sports fans will be delighted to find the popular Stamford Bridge football stadium is minutes away, where guests can take guided tours and enjoy lunch at Frankies Bar and Diner. At the top of the street to the North is one of London's oldest street markets while to the South is the market square next to the old church which adds a village-like atmosphere. The Dance Attic, where lessons and show rehearsals take place, and Universal Music's London HQ are nearby.
To reach the famous King’s Road for its chic restaurants, stylish cafés and trendy shops, simply take the number 11 bus for a short 10 minute ride! Don’t miss a visit to the Saatchi Gallery and Sloane Square for the Saturday food market which runs throughout the summer!
