We would not stay here again.
The neighborhood was okay, a little rough looking but felt safe overall. The house was very hot when we arrived. I wish the windows had been opened sooner to air it out. Especially the upstairs bedrooms. The second day, we had no hot water and didn't have any until the 4th day of our 7 day stay after my 22 yr. old son finally figured out how to use the boiler controls to adjust the water temperature. We were told a couple of times that a plumber would visit the home to fix it, but I'm not sure if that ever happened. We were gone during the daytime hours so I'm not sure if one actually came. Much of the upholstered furniture was dirty and torn. Dirty laundry was left in the laundry baskets. The house appears to be the primary residence of a family with young children and has been lived in very hard. There's nothing wrong with that, but renters need to be aware. On the positive side, having the Tesco Metro and bus stop around the corner was very helpful. We used the 207 bus to take us to the Shepherds Bush Underground everyday. And we stopped at the market every night after a day in the city to pick up items for the next morning's breakfast. The kitchen had most basic essentials. We did buy a spatula to use and left it at the house. We met the neighbors on the second day. They were a very nice and friendly young family. They rent the downstairs, while a young man rents the upstairs. Unfortunately after the family left town, the upstairs renter had a couple of late night parties. Whatever he was smoking would come right into our bedrooms windows. Yuck. I believe neighbors should be required to show the same respect as we are when it comes to noise after hours. Then to top it off, my son decides to tell me at the end of our stay that he saw a mouse on the first day in the upstairs den. It ran under the sofa and disappeared. He thinks it was living in the sofa that my youngest son slept on. He didn't tell me cause he knew it would completely gross me out and would be more than i could handle after everything else. He was right.

A home away from home. We believe it can be something really special. We know that finding the perfect base from which to go out and explore - or stay in and recharge - can make a great vacation unforgettable. At Veeve, we've been committed to hand-selecting the very best homes in London and Paris since 2011. Our mission? To provide our guests with the ideal space to suit their needs; be it a family home in Kensington, a chic penthouse in Shoreditch, or a quirky loft in the Marais...
Our homes may vary in size, style and location, but the experience we offer - seamless and curated - always stays the same. Whichever home you choose, our team of experts are bursting with insider knowledge on the local area. We love to make recommendations, so why not give us a call?

Why they chose this property

This neighbourhood is probably most famous for the shopping mecca that is Westfields. But long before the mega-mall was built – and even now just a stone’s throw away – there was the buzzing and vibrant Shepherd’s Bush Market, which has operated in the area for over 100 years and remains one of the most popular markets in the city. If you take a stroll down Uxbridge Road, you’ll find restaurants offering almost every cuisine in the world – or that’s what it seems like, anyway.
