Situated in the picturesque white hilltop village of Iznájar (ranked by Condé Nast Traveler magazine as..."one of the most beautiful villages in Spain"), the gateway to the Subbética National Park, and literally just one hour's drive north of Malaga, located in prime position, almost equidistant from the glorious, historic sightseeing cities of Seville, Malaga, Granada and Córdoba, on the banks of the beautiful, cobalt blue Lake Iznájar, the largest inland stretch of water in Andalucia, is your home-away-from-home, The Townhouse, Iznájar.
We have created your perfect home-away-from-home, situated in the heart of the beautiful village of Iznajár. A boutique, self-catering, three bedroom townhouse that sleeps up to five guests, and features a stunning sun-trap terrace, with uninterrupted views of the lake and surrounding olive groves.

It has often been said of this amazing area that you can ski in the morning (the incredible Sierra Nevada is only 90 minutes away) and swim in the afternoon - and it's true - usually up until around mid-May!

We would be delighted to arrange your airport transfers should these be required.

Step through the entrance and the ground floor of the house opens up before you. To your right is your dining area; straight ahead is your lounge with panoramic picture windows and a stunning view of the lake. Your modern kitchen ties the two areas nicely together.

Climb the stairs to the upper floor and you will find three bedrooms, made-up of a master double bedroom, which features a french window that opens direct onto your spectacular outdoor terrace, one twin and one single room.

Un très bel endroit.
Nous avons bien aimé notre séjour à Iznahar. La maison est confortable et conforme à la description. La communication avec Graham était facile. Nous n'avons pas utilisé le garage car très difficile d'accès pour une grosse voiture. La rue qui mène à la maison est très pendue et l'escalier qui mène aux chambres est très raide ce qui pourrait poser problème aux personnes à mobilité réduite. La vue depuis la terrasse est très belle. Iznahar est aussi un très beau village blanc.

Das Townhouse hat eine besondere Lage. Es liegt ziemlich weit oben im Ort in einer Sackgasse und der Weg dorthin ist abenteuerlich: eine wirklich steile Straße führt dorthin. Man sollte gut zu Fuß oder mit einem kleinen Auto unterwegs sein, denn ansonsten könnte einem die Steigung große Probleme bereiten. Wir fanden die Lage imposant und haben die Aussicht von dort oben genossen, vor allem von der Terrasse aus hat man einen fantastischen Blick auf den Stausee. Das Haus ist geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Schlafzimmer sind geräumig, verfügen über bequeme Betten und genügend Stauraum und sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Zudem verfügt das Haus über zwei Bäder mit Duschen, wovon das eine Bad auf der Höhe der Schlafzimmer liegt. Das zweite Bad ist in der unteren Etage. Uns hat es gut im Haus gefallen. Wer jedoch gerne und viel kocht, wird große Töpfe und Pfannen vermissen. Insgesamt ist die Küche ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen. Das muss fairerweise hier erwähnt sein. Auch im Badezimmer fehlen Haken für die Handtücher… Nichtsdestotrotz können wir einen Aufenthalt im Townhouse empfehlen, denn es ist etwas Besonderes und wir wären gerne noch länger geblieben, aber unsere Zeit war schon um. Vielen Dank an dieser Stelle noch einmal an Graham für seine aufmerksame, aber auch zurückhaltende „Betreuung“! Unser Schlüsselproblem konnten wir dank seiner prompten Antwort via Email sofort lösen.

Lovely property, well renovated and very comfortable
The house is at the top of a steep street. There is car access and use of a garage but with a large car we didn’t attempt either. Inside the property has character, charm and is well planned. Light rooms and the upstairs terrace was great. Beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning excellent. It did hit 40C during our stay.

Perfekt hus med fantastisk udsigt, men svært tilgængeligt og med hundegøen tidlig morgen/sent aften.
Ved modtagelsen blev huset fremvist af det engelske værtspar - fin overdragelse. Huset er perfekt til 5 mennesker, med alle ønskelige funktioner bortset fra ovn og opvaskemaskine. Trods den meget høje temperatur udenfor, var det muligt at holde en behagelig temperatur indendørs, da der var køling i stuen og i alle 3 værelser. Fra stuen og fra den dejlige tagterrasse er der en fantastisk udsigt over søen, der omkranser bjergbyen. I byen er der flere små "købmandsbutikker", med et rimeligt udvalg - og i Rute ca. 15 km derfra et større supermarked med frisk fisk. I byen er flere små restauranter, især var vi glade for et lille nyåbnet hotel, hvor maden var virkelig vellavet og servicen var helt i top. Maden blev om aftenen serveret i den dejlige have med blomster, lys og rislene vand. Prisniveauet var under halvdelen af danske priser. Andalusien er et ganske fint sted at holde ferie i - med gode motorveje imellem de kendte turiststeder i Granada, Cordoba, Sevilla, Rohnda og Malaga med Middelhavskysten. Der skal dog også nævnes et par negative ting: Gaderne i byen er meget smalle og meget, meget stejle - det betød store udfordringer for os (pensionister), når vi skulle rundt. Det var praktisk umuligt at køre frem til huset - det var ikke muligt at vende bilen ved huset, og ofte var vejen næsten spærret af andre parkerede biler. Så vi valgte at bruge en parkeringsplads lidt derfra, med det problem at vi skulle slæbe os selv og varerne op ad den meget, meget stejle bakke for at komme til huset. Det værste var dog, at 3-5 hunde hver aften til ca. midnat og igen om morgenen fra kl. 4 gøede uafbrudt. De betød, at det gik ud over nattesøvnen for det par, der boede med vinduer ud til terrassen/bjergsiden. Samlet set dog en god ferie. M.v.h. Poul Heltzen, Danmark

We recently moved to Spain to do our damnedest to enjoy La Dolce Vita. Part of that process was finding a Spanish house in a fabulous location and reforming it as the perfect 'home-away-from-home' for guests wishing to experience the real Spain, as opposed to the hellishly overcrowded Costa's, yet, be close to a beach (5 minutes) and less than an hour away from Malaga and Granada Airports. The result is The Townhouse, Iznajar. The Townhouse is located in Iznajar, the gateway to the glorious Subbetica Natural Park, and is within easy reach of the historical cities of Malaga, Granada, Cordoba and Seville. We hope that many of you will come and visit and enjoy everything that Spain and especially Andalucia, has to offer.
