About this property

Island Time is our little slice of paradise in the Outer Banks. It's small so we have done everything to utilize the space as efficiently and artistically as possible. It's very cheerful, clean and we think it's just the perfect little getaway place.

We've had lots of honeymooners and many repeat visitors over the years at our Quality Time Studio nearby, and will continue doing our best to ensure our guests have a vacation to remember at our new place I.

Spend some time experiencing the wonders of Cape Hatteras at your doorstep. Relax on our roof top deck under the brightest stars you will ever see or take a sunrise walk and watch the dolphins swim in the surf.

Island Time is a free standing Studio on stilts with parking underneath providing you a private hide-a-way on the beach. Our brand new queen size Serta Perfect Sleeper will ensure you get a good nights sleep.

Dan and I love to cook so the kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals or entertain. The local restaurants are wonderful too with fresh local seafood. There are charcoal grills and picnic tables outside for the grill masters among you.

We provide beach chairs and umbrellas so take off that watch and relax into Island Time.

As with all Mid Atlantic vacation spots we are subject to hurricanes between July and Nov. Please consider travel insurance. VRBO offers a plan but there are other insurance options. Check via GOOGLE. It's not expensive and safeguards your vacation monies.

Amazing Stay!

10/10 recommend staying at Island Time! It was absolutely perfect for a weekend getaway with the hubby! I am OCD and the cleanliness of this place was top notch for a vacation rental. Owners instructions for entry were clear and precise & everything was so perfect that we did not need a thing from them during our stay! The view from the top deck is breath taking! The outdoor furniture on the decks is extraordinary! Most places out cheaper plastic outdoor furniture outside but these chairs and tables were amazing! This unit even provided beach chairs (although it was too windy so we did not use them). The location is PERFECT! Settled right in the heart of Hatteras, just minutes from the Ferry, Frisco, Buxton, and Avon. We ate at so many of the local eateries and had great experiences. The location has 39 other condominiums and everyone was so nice! There was a group of people who had a cookout in the picnic area out back and they were so friendly & polite! ALSO! This unit is just steps from the sand. 😍 early morning sunrise walks on the beach or late night strolls at sunset are the perfect additions to any day! We will most definitely rent again for our next getaway ❤️

Great stay

We had a very nice time for mid-March. Clean and quiet as well as cheerful, beach inspired ambiance in the cabana. We got to enjoy the dolphin pods as well as nimerous sea birds daily. Thank you for a much neèded weekend away for our anniversary!

Wish the weather had been as nice as the Cabana

Tiny little hitch at check-in that was remedied immediately. Wonderful, well-appointed Cabana. Great use of furniture in the space. Weather was dreadful but the Cabana was delightful!

I have family in Hatteras and have been going to Hatteras since I was a small child. My husband Dan was raised on a finger lake in NY so we both have a love of the water.

We stayed at the Cabanas in the summer of 2006 and were hooked. We had 4 units filled with family and friends and enjoyed the privacy of the individual units over the big beach houses we had rented before. We bought #32 on my birthday later that same year.

So now 8 years later we've been lucky enough to buy a second Cabana, #24 and we are calling this Cabana Island Time. We all need to unwind from everyday stresses and there is no better place on earth than Hatteras to relax and recharge our batteries. We hope the sunny skies and endless beaches will help you relax and reset your pace to a slower speed for a while.

Dan and I love fishing and Hatteras offers a of variety of options. Surf casting from the beach has provided many lunches of Trout, Pompano, Puppy Drum, Flounder etc. There are head boats and charters a plenty. The local tackle shops sell everything you need.

Why they chose this property

Dan proposed to me on one knee at the top of Hatteras Lighthouse in 1997 before it was moved. This area holds so many special memories for us and we hope your time here will enrich your lives as much as it has ours.

What makes this property unique

Driving on the beach is too much fun!! It's a must do if you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Beach combing, horseback riding on the beach, kite surfing, kayaking, long walks on the beach etc. Fishing, driving on the beach and camp fires require permits so please follow the local laws governing these activities. Driving Permits are available online, fishing license are available at the local tackle shops or online and fire permits are free and available at local shops.
