Rethymno old city penthouse

This unique apartment is sitting on the top of a 19th century fully renovated building, next to the sea.
Spacious (78 s.m.) and bright, it consists of a living room with open air kitchen, 2 bedrooms: the master bedroom (10 s.m.) with a double queen size bed and the second bedroom (8 s.m.) with two single beds, and 2 bathrooms (one en suite). The sofa can be converted to a double bed, to accommodate a fifth or sixth person.
It features two amazing terraces, one offering great view of the roof tops of the old town and one facing the beautiful Venetian lighthouse, milestone of the city of Rethymno. The view to the Aegean Sea is breathtaking, allowing you to relax and daydream...
While staying in this unique apartment, you will find yourself in the middle of the city' s nightlife. The local area is served by many shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. Most of the major nightclubs, cafes and restaurants are just on your feet, the only thing you need to do is go down the stairs and you’re right in the heart of everything! Within walking distance is a super market, where you can find all you may need for everyday cooking.
Soon, you will find yourself lost in the picturesque neighborhoods of Rethymno, where you will discover the Venetian era of the city, as well as unique souvenirs to take home.
One of the highlights of the apartment is that the road beneath is pedestrianized from 8pm to 1am. That means you can stroll around undisturbed by the traffic, or you can hire a bicycle to wonder about the old city.
If you’re in the mood for swimming, the sea is right on your feet. Or you can find an organized beach with sun beds, umbrellas and a variety of water sports within a 10 minute walking distance.

The apartment features double windows, that are completely sound proof, but keep in mind that it is situated in the most vibrant part of the city, with lots of bars and restaurants underneath.
Also notice that the apartment is situated on the second floor and that the building does not feature an elevator (as most buildings in the old city). So, if you have problems climbing up the stairs, this house is not the right one for you.

For longer term stays, there is a free, weekly cleaning service.

The apartment is fully air-conditioned and we provide you with clean bed linen and towels and bath amenities.
There is also a washing machine, a steam - iron and a hair dryer, and you can connect to the Internet through a wireless connection in the entire apartment. The modern kitchen is fitted with all the amenities you'll need to dine in when not enjoying the fantastic selection of restaurants in the vicinity. These include microwave, oven, elements and complete sets of cutlery, crockery and glasses.

Once you confirm your reservation, I will give you a list of restaurants, bars and coffees, as well as unique beaches and other places of interest within the area of Rethymno. I will also be available in case you may need any kind of information regarding your stay.
The local bus station that connects you to Crete's major ports is 1 km away, while the taxi station is opposite the entrance of the building.
If you have a car, there are two parking areas, one next to the city’s old Venetian port (290 meters away) and one on the city’s harbour (750 meters away).

Tolle Wohnung in der Altstadt von Rethymno
Wir waren für knapp zwei Wochen in den Herbstferien in der Wohnung von Irini direkt an der Strandpromenade mit vielen Bars und Restaurants. Nach wenigen Schritten biegt man in die Altstadt ab. Die Kommunikation mit der Gastgeberin war klasse. Kontaktaufnahme kurz vor Reisebeginn und Check-In verliefen reibungslos. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

12 wunderschöne Tage in Rethymnon
Meine beiden erwachsenen Kinder und ich hatten eine tolle Zeit in Rethymnon Ende August - Anfang September 2021. Das Appartment ließ keine Wünsche offen, besonders die traumhafte und sehr großzügige Terrasse in Richtung Meer hat uns begeistert. Sehr schön war es auch, fußläufig alles erreichen zu können: Den Strand, die wunderschöne Altstadt, tolle Restaurants und Bars... Und selbst, wenn unten noch viel los war, bekamen wir im Appartment davon wenig mit, sobald wir die Fenster schlossen, was aufgrund der in allen Räumen vorhandenen Klimaanlagen kein Problem war. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

Perfekter Urlaub
Das war ein perfekter Urlaub in einer Wohnung mit Traumlage. Abends richtig was los. AAA Lage der Wohnung. Was man mögen muss war der Treppenraum... aber das ist halt so in einer Altstadt. Die Aussicht von der Dachtrerrasse lässt den Weg durchs Treppenhaus vergessen.
