About this property

Chalet Bonnefous is a renovated Samoens chalet with exceptional warmth and familial charm. The property is located in a quiet cul de sac, just a few minutes walk from the heart of the 13th Century Alpine village and very close to the ‘Grand Massif Express’ (GME) ski lift.

This family home is a lovely mix of modern day comforts and traditional old world style and provides accommodation for 11 (12) guests in 5 bedrooms, with 4 bathrooms.

The main reception area is on the first floor and flows through the whole length of the chalet. The space divides up into 3 and features an open fireplace, TV room/snug and a study area. These rooms have plenty of deep, comfortable sofas and chairs for ultimate comfort after a long day on the slopes. The Ground floor dining room is an elegant space to host elaborate dinners, setting the perfect scene for an evening of smoking hot fondue and glasses of crisp French white wines.

There are five entirely unique bedrooms, including a twin (or double) with television and ensuite bathroom, two further double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a Bunk bedroom sleeping 4 and one more single bedroom. We can also, upon request, set up a an extra single bed in the study.

There is a driveway for one car in front of the property and parking for a further 3 cars just outside.

LOCATION

Chalet Bonnefous is conveniently located in Samoens village and in close walking distance to the centre and moments away from the ‘Avenue des Loisirs’ ski bus stop to the high speed ‘GME’ lift connecting you to the Grand Massif ski domain, which boasts some of the best skiing in the world. Suitable for all levels, there is over 275km of piste to explore and plenty of off-piste for more advanced skiers. Simply step outside the door and you’ll be on a fantastic snow-shoeing/Nordic skiing route. In the summer, this house is a hub for adventure sports such as hiking, mountain biking, climbing and paragliding

REACHING THE CHALET

It takes roughly 1 hour to reach the chalet from Geneva airport. The nearest train station is the ‘Gare de Cluses’ (25 minutes drive away). There is public transport and a ski bus stop near the house.

If arriving in a vehicle, it is legal requirement, between the months of November – April, to come equipped with winter tyres or snow chains that specifically fit you vehicle.

Chalet Bonnefous is a self-catered stay. You will have the entire house to yourself but we can help put you in touch with local caterers.

Changeover day for the chalet is Saturday… However please ask if you’d like a different arrival day as we can sometimes be flexible

Un séjour ideal !

Belle quinzaine dans cette belle maison dont le grand jardin clôturé permet de laisser sereinement les enfants jouer ! L’emplacement est par ailleurs idéal entre base de loisirs et centre ville. À recommander assurément!

Fabulous New Year in Sameons

We had a mixed party of 4 families and the chalet was a huge hit. It allowed us to have a great space to eat, drink and socialise together and space for quiet time apart. walking distance to the village, overall a very easy going, stylish, traditional and a French alpine holiday vibe.

Pour de belles vacances

Un chalet bien situé, à proximité du centre que l'on peut rejoindre en quelques minutes à pied, des équipements à foison ( cela va du sel en passant par l'huile, le matériel de cuisson, la vaisselle, le linge et j'en oublie ) et de bonne qualité. Il nous a fallu une première journée pour découvrir et prendre nos marques et ensuite, cela n'a été que du bonheur. Nous étions 5 personnes de plus de 60 ans et tout le monde s'est accordé à dire qu'on se sentait très bien dans ce chalet et qu'il avait une âme ( à contrario des locations habituelles pour les vacances ) Nous recommandons vivement cette location et envisageons d'ailleurs d'y retourner l'année prochaine

Un chalet idéal où on se sent bien!

Nous avons passé un très beau séjour dans ce grand chalet où chacun pouvait avoir son coin de tranquillité. La literie était confortable et la cuisine bien équipée. Le chalet est situé à 10mn à pied du centre ville et nous avions une belle vue sur les montagnes. Séjour réussi!

Perfect family home

We wanted a house for 2 families and 2 extra friends, and this bedroom arrangement worked extremely well for us. This is a comfortable, cozy, spacious house, well equipped for cooking-we hadn't intended to cook most nights, but most restaurants were full... and Carrefour was a small walk away. All generations loved this house, separate areas for reading, listening to music and playing cards. The owners have clearly spent many family holidays there as they have nearly everything you would need. We all felt it was one of our best holidays together. Highly recommended.
