Price falsely advertised and untrustworthy owner
The property is nice, however it’s the first property I’ve ever stayed in that you have to pay per person that is attending. Be careful when booking because none of the amenities are included in the rental fee. Despite paying a substantial cleaning fee, if you use the bbq or log burner. You have to pay extra to get those cleaned too. The air conditioning isn’t included as well which we thought wouldn’t be an issue. However despite the weather being 18 degrees and sunny, the house was freezing to the point towels wouldn’t dry within 24 hours. Had to sleep in jumpers to keep warm. We turned the a/c on for half an hour using a button on the unit. Then got an email saying we had to pay so we turned it off immediately. We were then charged a large amount to get it ‘reprogrammed’.
Also a week before arriving, we were told to pay an extra service charge that wasn’t advertised at the time of booking. And was told if it wasn’t paid, we wouldn’t be given access to the property. So we had no choice but to pay more than we were budgeting for. When asked to pay a 4 figure security deposit, I was asked to transfer it directly to his bank account which obviously I didn’t trust doing, and also was asked for my bank information to return it. He was trying to do further transactions off of VRBO. Be careful booking!!!
