• Kayak/canoe Local firms available to take you upstream so that you can canoe/drift downstream taking in the countryside, village and bird life from the river, arriving back to where your car is waiting.

Notes

• The area is famous for its wine. Vineyards nearest to the cottage are Pouilly Fume and Sancerre. Also nearby you will be able to sample the wines from Coteaux du Giennois, Mentou-Salon, Quincy, Reuilly, Chateaumeillant and of course Cotes de la Charite from La Charite. The vineyards are open six days a week for sales and tasting. The delicious goats cheese, Crottin de Chavignol, is produced locally and goes exceptionally well with the local wines. Chateaux and Gardens: We are in the middle of the chateaux route "La Route Jacques-Coeur" which offers 16 chateaux and historical sites; this together with the abundance of beautiful gardens available locally means you will never lack something to do. Fishing: the locals are passionate fishermen, so why not join them? There is a huge choice of picturesque spots along the Loire. Local towns: La Charite sur Loire, Sancerre, Vezalay, Bourges and Nevers are all beautiful towns well worth a visit.
