Our house is 200 meters from the fascinating medieval walls, between Porta S. Maria and Porta San Jacopo, situated in a very quiet residential area of Lucca. We are very close to the Amphitheatre square just a few minutes on foot or by bicycle, and all kinds of shops. The house is a villa of the 50s, two floors with separate entrances, recently renovated and the ground floor is reserved for friends and guests. The apartment of about 90 square meters, includes a kitchen of 21 square meters, equipped with dishwasher and a table of 3.5 m, which accommodates up to 16 people (for our family get-togethers), a living room with two single sofa beds (or double bed), a bathroom, a double bedroom (or two single beds) and a basement with a washing machine. On request you can add two more seats bed or cot for a child. The house is equipped with autonomous heating. You enter the apartment through the garden, which comes to visit every day a singing robin.

This apartment was the best place we stayed at in Italy, and might be the nicest place we have ever stayed at for VRBO. Many times you temper your expectations for a stay, this place far exceeded any expectations we had. The kitchen is huge, it looks brand new, and has a beautiful rustic kitchen table that can possibly serve 10 people. We were not expecting a kitchen of this size in an apartment. We had breakfasts and dinners here and only ate out for lunch. The whole apartment is bright and cheery and looks as if it has been completed gutted and remodeled over the last two years.
The apartment is located on the northeast side of the old walled city. It is within easy walking distance of two of the entry gates. The neighborhood is quiet, there is a beautiful garden just outside the apartment's entrance. You could not ask for a nicer place to stay or two nicer people who own it.
Lucca is wonderful, in retrospect we should have stayed here longer as it was so relaxing. Walking on the walls of the old city, sitting and having an espresso with some amazing delectable pastry, having a late lunch and not being rushed to leave; this is Italy at its best.
Lovely property, ideal location and very friendly
We really enjoyed our time in Lucca. The property is clean, spacious, very well equiped and located only 5 minutes walk from the city walls. Perfect! The owners Laura and Stefen were very friendly and helpful. Cannot fault the property & Lucca is a fascinating place.

Hi Corinne, thank you for your review.
I'm happy that you have spent a nice little holiday at Ribin's Nest and in Lucca.
I hope you woud return to visit us.
Lucca is a wonderful city to visit for its historical and monumental richness and its sixteenth century walls covered on foot or by bibicletta. The "ring of walls" (4 km and 233 m) is the typical walk of Lucca, to make four steps immersed among the trees (chestnut trees, plane trees, oaks, poplars, limes) and see from above (12 meters) the red roofs, steeples, gardens, terraces and houses of the city and and the view of the Apuan Alps to the outside. The old town has preserved its medieval appearance, thanks to the valuable architectures, ancient and numerous churches (Lucca is also called the city of 100 churches), the many towers, bell towers and monumental renaissance buildings. Our house is located just outside the walls in a very quiet residential neighborhood. From our house on foot, in a few minutes, you can reach Porta S. Maria, the historic center and Borgo Giannotti (lively district with a rich presence of craft activities to which many businesses are flanked. Giannotti has always been the traditional area fairs of "September Lucchese"), in 10 minutes the river Serchio for a nice walk.
