Overview

About the property

4 Bedrms/3 Bathrms - great for family reunions or 2 families traveling together

This is a beautiful brownstone that we lovingly rebuilt as our family home. It is MUCH larger than most homes in the city of New York. A generous, agreeable home in which to relax and enjoy all that NY has to offer. Incomparably spacious and comfortable and priced for affordability.

We do have a strict no smoking policy and require quiet evening activities.

The expansive first floor of the brownstone has 12 ft ceilings, a gleaming fully equipped kitchen w/washer and dryer, a comfortable living room with large flat-screen television and a dining room with an extra wide table that seats 8 plus diners. There are four ample and pleasant bedrooms. On the third floor, one bedroom has a king sized bed, one cozy bedroom with a full/double bed and one bedroom has two full/double beds. The Master bedroom on the second floor has a queen bed and large en suite bathroom - soaking tub, heat lamp and separate toilet. The office has two couches that fold out to full/double beds for more options. There is also a snug reading nook on the second floor with a single foldout. There are 2 full bathrooms and one half bathroom, one on each floor. All linens provided.

There is a lovely south facing perennial garden. Perfect for coffee in the am, an outdoor play space for children, or al fresco dinner at twilight.

Please, no smoking indoors and no loud parties. This is not a hotel but a private residence in a neighborhood with families.

It is easy to get everywhere. MTA/Subway - two blocks from the 2/3, five blocks from the A/B/C/D, three stops from mid-town - 18min - LYFT and UBER anywhere.

Metro-North Commuter train - 125th Street station is five blocks away, 45 min to Connecticut.

Local Dining has boomed in the last few years with some real standouts all walking distance –

About Owner/Property Manager

My husband, three children and I love this city. I went to college here, my husband and I lived here before and shortly after we started our family. We built this home for our family before my husband's work took us out of state but we make it back as often as we can. He is often here weekly for work. It is larger than most homes in the city and has a rare piece of outdoor space that is great for kids.

Owner/Property Manager purchased this townhome in 1998

Why Owner/Property Manager chose Harlem

Harlem is a bustling center. Here in this diverse community we have a large and beautiful home - from high ceilings to a tranquil garden, and on the train everything is close. Just what we wanted - couldn't resist. Perfect for our family and yours. The city has endless sights to see and experience and it's all so accessible in this location in the city.

What makes this townhome unique

Unusually large space for Manhattan! This is a house not an apartment. The south facing garden is like a little piece of zen in the city that never sleeps. NYC is full of great museums and adventures and Harlem is always on the cutting edge in terms of music, fashion, food and art. We know it is expensive to travel and stay in the city and have priced this to make it available for families in particular. Do the research and compare to four or five hotel rooms. This is a wonderful option.

This property is great for a group or family

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful brownstone is in a wonderful area of NYC! We loved the neighborhood, shops, markets, and quick access to the subway. We also enjoyed the amount of space we had at the house. It was perfect for our large group.

Tina was also very prompt with her responses when we had question and offered great suggestions for eating and experiencing the area. Thank you Tina for everything!

Incredible place to stay in NYC!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 9 could not believe our luck when we arrived to this beautiful brownstone! This is the best kept secret in NYC! There was tons of space for everyone and we were able to get a taste of what it is like to live in NY.

I would put out a word of caution with anyone who has difficulty with stairs. There are a lot of them and they are quite steep! Other than that, there are plenty of rooms, bathrooms and a great kitchen. Enjoy the nightlife outside in the street and know that the neighborhood is bustling! We felt very safe at all times and everyone we spoke to was very friendly. The subway is relatively close by depending on what line you want to take. Whole foods is just around the corner along with many restaurants. If you have the chance to book this place, you won't regret it!

Great location for a family

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay with two families in this property. The property owner was helpful and flexible when we had to make an unexpected change in dates, and the location was great. A neighborhood with great character and history, a house with tons of space, a great owner, you won’t regret it.

Loved it !!

  • 5 of 5

This is not the same Harlem I remember from 40 years ago. First of all the neighborhood is so cool, nice little clubs great restaurants. But more importantly the people are super nice and friendly. It is diverse and very cool and extremely safe. I know that because like I said 30 years ago I probably would not have stayed in Harlem. Today, or rather during our vacation, we walked everywhere day night and late night. Everyone and I mean everyone was friendly and totally normal. As far as the house, you’re not find a better bargain in the city. Five bedrooms three bathrooms, a nice size kitchen family room with a three minute walk to the train station All of the linens are clean as well as the bathroom and the kitchen. The Wi-Fi worked great even know we had six kids all connected most of the time we were here. Also, the owners answer the phone and were very responsive to texts only had some questions. If you have a large group of people coming to the city, he would be crazy to spend the money on three hotel rooms when you can have this house for a fraction of the price and have much more room and the ability to spend time together comfortably. The next time you come to the city we will absolutely be back. Thank you for sharing your home with us Jason

We are happy we can share this experience and welcome you back next time you come to the city. Kind regards, Tina

Great Location near Stores and Subway

  • 5 of 5

We were very comfortable in this conveniently located brownstone in Harlem. There were 10 of us, 7 children and 3 adults. We all had plenty of room to sleep and more than adequate bathroom amenities. The kitchen is completely stocked with everything you need to cook. Stop at Wholefoods (just a block and a half away) and you're set to go. Pantry has seasonings, etc. Buy what you need, leave what you don't use. It worked out great. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable. There is a washing machine and dryer if you need to do laundry. It's a three story brownstone, so be ready to climb stairs. The owner is attentive and answered my calls whenever I had a question. We would definitely stay there again if we had large group coming to NYC.

Huge, homeley house. Great location.

  • 5 of 5

Our party of 6 ladies from Australia had a fabulous time here and in New York. The house is HUGE and with all the creature comforts of home. The location is fantastic, easy access to funky Harlem and easy access to the subway to get you any where in New York.

Thank you for opening up your home to us and other visitors. We highly recommend it. Fabulous.
