Remote Location, Easy To Get To, Every Amenity, Beautiful View Of The Ocean
I have another property at Northwest Point Resort also on VRBO#624106. I bought this unit as it's adjacent to my main unit.
Hal purchased this Condo in 2015
Why Hal chose Wheeland Settlement
I chose Northwest Point Resort because of the tranquil and serene setting. The resort is not crowded which I very much like and you are totally connected with the natural beauty of the island. My condo is perfect for people who want to get away from the hustle bustle of daily life and relax in a magnificent setting.

Excellent property! Away from the crowds
Our stay was in the off season. We took a chance at not getting a hurricane issue during the month of September.
Property was off the beaten path but well worth it! We had, pretty much the run of the whole property. But even with it being the off season, property was maintain daily, pool was also in great shape as was every other aspect of the property. The restaurant/bar area was not open due to the season but we were able to get ice for our cooler from there.
Unit itself was very clean and had every amenity we might need. It even had a medium sized cooler that was awesome for packing drinks, lunch, snack, etc for a day down at the beach
Bed was comfy
Beautiful view from the great balcony.
Hal, the owner, left instructions and info that were over and above what I've ever received in the past (and I've been to a lot of VRBO properties) Info such as best options for restaurants, best beaches, places to shop for groceries, etc. Was really appreciated info.
Property is on the opposite side of the tourist areas but is a quick 15 minute drive to pretty much anywhere, including Grace Beach
Would definitely recommend for anyone and would book again for a future stay
“Hal’s Haven” exceeded our expectations. The condo resort was incredibly clean and everyone was so very friendly. Our view from the balcony was spectacular and we enjoyed our coffee and breakfast while birdwatching and catching the ocean breeze. The beach was private and clean. One morning on a walk, we were the only ones taking in the sunrise.
Even though it’s fifteen minutes to the hustle and bustle of Grace Bay, it was pleasant time to take in the surroundings and culture. Plus, it’s just 8 minutes from the famous Da Conch Shack.
Everything was absolutely delightful and if will visit TCI again, this place is where we’ll stay.
So glad you had a nice time. Come back anytime.
Very reasonable price for paradise
This condo is exactly as pictured online. It was spotless, comfortable, decorated well and cozy for two. Perfect!
Sunrise view if you go to the beach. Sunset view from balcony if you look left. Ocean view straight ahead. (as pictured).
Balcony is shaded in afternoon/evening, this was important for us since we like to read and play board games.
Although reviews state property is isolated, you don't "get it" until you are there. If you enjoy an uncrowded vacation as we do, this is the place for you. (If you are into "people/boat/bird watching" you will be disappointed.)
Wish we'd have seen the beach chairs for rental near the bar to take to Grace Bay before the last day. We knew of a place that had chairs and umbrella so just got there early to claim our spot.
There is seaweed on the beach and in the ocean at the resort. Pictures may not accurately show this. It's not severe enough to ruin your trip, just know that it is present. It doesn't claim to be pristine like Grace Bay.
Often we were the only ones at the beach until the afternoon. No need to rise early to reserve chairs. Pool often empty too but there was little shade in afternoon. Loved the ocean view while sitting by the pool! (We usually stay at Point Grace which is lovely, but this pool was much bigger and better in our opinion. )
Courtyards were landscaped well. Made you feel welcomed. Property very well lit- even at night= felt very safe. Boardwalk to beach also lit for those who sat on beach until sunset.
You will need a car. Stop for groceries first. Da Conch shack an easy short drive. Las Brias is our favorite and worth the drive to Chalk Sound. Breathtaking views.
Good things lie at the end of dirt roads. This is one of them!
Glad you had a nice time.
This property may be off the beaten path, but the views and accommodations are worth it. We enjoyed the pool, restaurant and, of course, the beach. A rental car is a must, but this allows you the freedom to check out the island. Hal provided several recommendations and we enjoyed them all. The condo was perfect for our needs.
So glad you had a good time. Come back anytime!
Great time to relax!
This property was a wonderful respite for us! Beautiful condo on the NW shore of the island. Just what we needed, peace and quiet. Once we conquered driving on the left hand side of the road from the right hand side of the car, it was a piece of cake!
Great! Glad you had a nice time.
Secluded, up to date unit, and a relaxing stay
If you are looking for seclusion, then this is your place! This is a 20 minute drive from the airport but it is the opposite direction of Grace Bay and the more developed area. It is accessible and easy to get to the tourist areas/grocery stores but it will be a 30 minute drive.
Location - nice! Just be ready to drive and for dirt / gravel roads. It is amazing to have the entire northwest point of the island within view. It is undeveloped other than this two building complex which is amazing.
Complex - up to date! A lot of parking, easy to find with directions, seems secure, staff was nice
Unit - very nice! Granite countertops, appliances, big king bed, plenty of blankets, the sitting room is lovely, the balcony has amazing views of the ocean and northwest point area. The owner does a nice job with a fully stocked kitchen, had some extra condiments, provided some leftover sunscreen, towels, and even shampoo/soap items too. Washer/dryer in unit was nice to have.
facilities - pool is great! Lots of chairs. Beach is wide with lots of pebble-like sand. It also has about 8 wooden umbrella structures for shade. It was competitive some mornings to get a chair by 8am but other days there was no issue. There are kayaks and a paddle board available too. The beach is super long as you have the entire northwest point of the island so everyone spreads out throughout the day. The only negative to the beach is it is not as pretty as Grace Bay or Long Bay beaches - these beaches are turquoise water + powder white sand and no sea grass anywhere. The property's beach had huge mounds of sea grass which made getting in the water unappealing and then the water itself was much darker. There is also a restaurant open for all three meals if you choose to stay on property.
Wifi - high speed in the unit and then the broader property had some wifi too for outside.
TV - so many channels! nice to have in the evening
Overall, this is a nice secluded spot with an up to date unit and engaged owner. We would recommend!
Thanks Regina for the nice review. So glad you enjoyed. Regarding the beach.. We do all we can to keep the sea grass as a bay but the beaches are all protected and a nesting group for fish and coral and so we don't want it to be like Grace Bay. There are lots of nice clear areas around and I love seeing all the nature.
