Renee and Drew Royall
About Renee and Drew Royall
We both grew up in NC... We searched the High Country for a year before finding this unique and priceless piece of land. We consider it to be our "Devine Intervention!" A place to come and slow down, completely unwind & let the worries of everyday life, go!
Renee and Drew Royall purchased this Farmhouse in 2015
Why Renee and Drew Royall chose Deep Gap
In today's 24/7 plugged in lifestyle... we all need a place to unplug and decompress, if only for a couple of days. This is the spot! Completely private, the home sits on the banks of Elk Creek, a pristine state stock trout stream. This home is on 2.5 acres of beautiful flat land, surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. Centrally located to Boone, Blowing Rock, West Jefferson and the famous Blue Ridge Parkway... this home provides a great base camp to explore the surrounding area OR simply checkin, and enjoy the land and Elk Creek.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Secluded, there are no other homes in sight. Breath taking, the lay of the land & the position of the house on the creek is incredible. Relaxing, rocking on the wrap around porch, napping in the hammock, or walking along the creek bank... You will feel yourself slow down and find yourself, enjoying the moment. Convenient, to everything the highlands has to offer. 6 miles to the famous Blue Ridge Parkway, 15 minutes to Boone, less than half an hour to Blowing Rock and West Jefferson. Fishing, a dream any angler can wake up too! The music, of mother nature is awesome. You can hear and see elk creek from every room in the home. The home, or as we call it, "the Farm"... Perfectly furnished and comfortable. "the Farm" will embrace you & your family! It will make you so happy, you'll be sad to leave. Moonshine Bend is truly, a little piece of heaven on earth!

Beautiful home on mountain creek
House was just as advertised. Very nice home on the creek. This house is off the beaten path but has everything you will need for a nice get away! My family spent 4 nights and had a really great time. The house is great! Very clean and comfortable beds! The house has anything you may need for your stay. We did not do any cooking while there but kitchen was furnished with anything you may need. We spent most of our time on the back deck next to the creek! We did a little fishing but we were not there during the best time of year for it. We still caught a few and had a great time! I would recommend this house to anyone looking for some piece and quite!! Still not a bad drive to go into Boone for restaurants or to just play tourist.
We're so glad you all enjoyed your time there and hope that you will come back soon! We appreciate your review!
Loving the view!
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful and fully stocked home on a lovely little trout stream. It was magical and we felt right at home right away. Renee and Drew were easy to communicate with and we wouldn't hesitate to come back again. Thank you for having this little getaway. We loved it.
Kelly- We hope y'all will come back and thanks for staying with us!
A little slice of heaven on earth
This place was so peaceful and relaxing. We had so much fun playing in the creek, swinging on the porch swings, and just taking in the scenery. The house was immaculate. The kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils one needs to cook a good meal. It was only a short trip to Boone and Blowing Rock. We will definitely rent this place again. Keep in mind, however, that there is no cell service and no tv channels available. But they had a huge selection of dvds and we were able to text and check emails and social media with the available WiFi. You won’t miss the phones or tv because you’ll want to spend all your time by the creek.
Jenny- We're so happy you enjoyed your stay and going to come back! Cell service is limited. I have Verizon and can get a signal in the lower pasture between the shed and bridge. We also advise folks to give out the landline number if they need to check in with folks. Again- we're very happy you enjoyed our "Little Peace of Heaven on Earth!"
Lovely stay, we will be back!
Our family of five (children 9.5, 7.5 and 4.5) has a wonderful stay! The stream was so much fun to play and fish in, the house was spotless and very nicely decorated, the kitchen and movie selections were very well stocked. Our vacation was better then we could have hoped for and we can’t wait to come back for another visit!
One thing I wish I had brought was a floaty for my 4.5 year old son. He would have had so much more fun in the swimming hole if could have been independent in the water, but I didn’t realize that he would need it.
Glad y'all had a good time and found everything to your satisfaction! We look forward to your return visit!
