Beautiful, serene and very clean!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I, our son and his girlfriend stayed at Kiefer Cabin from 6/9/17-6/12/17. We found the cabin easily and were very pleasantly surprised to find how well it was kept and how well stocked the kitchen was. This was one of the few VRBO properties that we were able to move right into without making a trip to the store for various kitchen items. Our two bedrooms were very comfortable as were the furnishings throughout the cabin. One perfect mountain evening we prepared a multiple course meal and dined outside while enjoying the sunset on Longs Peak. Multiple times we would have elk grazing past mere feet from the cabin. There were lots of other wildlife constantly in the area. I cannot say enough positives about the property and Eric the owner. If you desire a mountain cabin, convenient to Estes Park amenities or Rocky Mountain National Park, look no further, book this one!

Wonderful comfy, cozy cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay at the Kiefer cabin. Clean, comfy, cozy, beautiful views, it has it all. I can't even name one thing that we liked best because it was all wonderful. From eating breakfast outside with beautiful mountain views to relaxing in the comfy living room area by the fire at night this was by far one of our favorite places we've stayed. The owner's hospitality was such a pleasant addition to this amazing cabin. The cabin itself is well-stocked, everything you would possibly need. Lots of extras to include games and your own little visitor center full of information of things to do in the area. We were sad to leave and we can't wait to return!

Beautiful, clean cabin

  • 5 of 5

Best place we've stayed on vacation! Spotlessly clean when we arrived. Cabin is decorated perfectly for a Colorado retreat and has everything you need for your stay. Having a washer and dryer in the house was amazing and makes your stay so much easier. Lovely view of mountains that you can see from all the large windows and the patio. Owner was great, always responded to my messages before and during the stay almost immediately.

Excellent Place to Stay in Estes Park

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in Kiefer Cabin for four nights and, overall, we were so pleased with our stay. Every contact with Eric was professional and prompt. The cabin itself is very charming and welcoming. The light in the cabin is just perfect and I felt very much at peace in the space. As many other reviewers noted, the two swiveling, reclining chairs were a highlight of the cabin. We sat and enjoyed the view of Long's Peak many, many times on our trip. We saw plenty of chipmunks and rabbits, but only saw one elk closer to Estes Park and a small bear at the top of the Arial Tramway. I'm sure this was due to the hot temperatures. We saw many more creatures actually in the National Park. As a family traveling with young children, we very much appreciated the laundry. I also loved all the extras the owners attended to- from Ziploc bags, to a first aid kit, and children's books in the loft. We also got a lot of information from the pamphlets about Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.

A few things I might clarify--we were a bit surprised by some of these things. First of all, the cabin is not out by itself in the middle of nowhere. While it does sit on some land, you can see your neighbors and you are right on a road where you can hear traffic noise. It wasn't a big deal to us, but we weren't aware we'd be that close to "civilization." Also, we found the master bed to be very hard and uncomfortable and we had a hard time sleeping on it. The most comfortable bed was up in loft, so for the third and fourth nights, our whole family slept up there. Cozy! A very small thing, but I did notice that there wasn't a tea kettle, which was a bit disappointing for these 2 tea drinkers. Finally, do note that the loft is right above the TV and family room area, so it may be hard for some to sleep up there if others are downstairs talking.

I was very happy with our stay and definitely sad to go. Thanks to Eric and his family for providing such a wonderful retreat!

Great location, comfortable cabin

  • 5 of 5

The Kiefer Cabin is located conveniently between Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. A few restaurants are walkable distance, East entrances to the RMNP are a short drive. Cabin was clean, well-appointed and comfortable. We needed an iron and the owners brought one over for us to use. Loved having laundry on site and the weather could not be beat. Patio area outside with a view of the mountains, sunshine and cool breezes, perfect.

Fantastic ! Cabin was 5 minutes to the park & 5 minutes to main town

  • 5 of 5

Loved getting up every morning and looking out the living room picture window to the snow covered mountains. We saw elk in our yard almost every night after dinner. Eric and his wife answered the few text messages we sent immediately. They were great hosts. We will definitely come back and stay in their cabin again. We didn't want to leave.
