Montenegro is a real jewel on the picturesque Adriatic landscape.Brought into prominence when featured in James Bond's ' Casino Royale ' ,this new addition to the Eurozone is becomong a major interest for people looking for an alternative to the more common Mediterranean destinations. About the size on Northern Ireland ,it has over a hundred beaches and a contrasting inland of dramatic mountains, endless pine forests and medieval walled towns. It is now emerging with its own newly found identity to stake its claim on the European holiday front, but with a greater variety than other countries may offer.
The Budva Riviera : The coastline has a mild Mediterranean climate with short mild winters and sunny warm summers, averaging 10-12 hours of sunshine per summer's day.The Budva riviera is the centre of the holiday and leisure area and Becici's long beach and calm sea have established it as an ideal holiday resort.
This apartment is seven minutes from Becici beach yet quietly nestled up against the mountainside. This location gives the best of both worlds, with panoramic views to the sea and the untouched mountains to the rear.
Flying to Montenegro.: Montenegro has two airports : Podgorica (approx. 60 kms from Becici ) and Tivat (approx.20 kms from Becici )
Dubrovnik ,in Croatia,is also very accessible and has more frequent flights and more competitive prices than the above airports.Travel from this airport to the apartment is approx.1.25 hrs by car and this provides a lovely vista as you travel on the coastal road down to Montenegro.
Car hire can be easily ordered at the airport but please book in advance and remember to tell the company that you are travelling over the border to Montenegro to ensure they supply you with a green card to cross the border.
Please also remember to travel with dipped headlights at all times !
The apartment is fantastic! The property is modern, spacious, in excellent condition and very well maintained. Its description is more than accurate and the property actually looks better than on the pictures. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and stay again ourselves.
There is a commanding view over the sea and mountains from the balcony. Swimming pool is brilliant and just few steps outside the apartment. Very few people are using it.
The apartment is perfectly located. It is 15-20 min drive from Budva, few minutes walk to the Becici beach, 10 minutes drive to other best beaches, such as Sveti Stefan and Milocher.
Activities, attractions and restaurants:
Becici beach is excellent. But you can explore other ones by taking a taxi boat from Budva (ask for Sv Nikola or "three seagulls - or tri chaiki" beaches). The boat can also pick you up on the Becici beach. There is also a possibility to rent a sailing boat with skipper.
The apartment is also close to the mountains. It is great to go to avoid afternoon heat. It takes 30 min drive up the mountains to Cetinje, the old royal capital. On the way there is a brilliant mountain restaurant (Konak), where they serve lamb. Two hours drive is Ostrog monastery which is one of the biggest places of interest in Montenegro.
It takes 2 hours to drive to Dubrovnik. It is best to go early in the morning to avoid queuing on the border with Croatia.
There are plenty of restaurants and cafes around Becici and Budva. The restaurant inside Budva's old town city walls has great views over the sea. Porto restaurant in Budva's marina and Secret Garden in Old Town are good. There is also a Cuban style bar in Budva serving great cocktails. There is excellent farmers market in Budva where you can get fresh fish and seafood (before 1 pm) and fruits/vegetables all day.
Comfortable apartment, in a quiet corner of the town. Easy access and safe parking.
Whether you like to explore further afield, or stay put in this little hamlet, it's just the ticket. I always like to hire a car and get out and about. Here there's plenty to see and do, the countryside is glorious and will be like a magnet to those who appreciate the big outdoors. Flora and fauna are abundant, blessing the mountainsides with a wash of green and colour.. For bird lovers, it's a haven. Just Google, 'birds of Montenegro.'
The food here is not haute cuisine but, don't let that put you off, it's all beautifully fresh, well cooked and almost all from the locality. Plenty of seafood and fish, plus local hams. You won't go hungry. If you like to have a night in, the apartment is comfortable and well appointed. Enjoy a home cooked supper on the veranda, staring out at the sea at sunset.
A short stroll will take you down to the beach, it's restaurants and bars, where
the locals are very friendly, and generally willing to help with any advise.
I would heartily recommend this apartment for a vacation. It's comfortable, nicely appointed and spacious.
The apartment was wonderful. It was spacious, modern, clean and simple! It had everything we needed and we were truly happy with the views from the balcony. The apartment block was very peaceful, so no issues with not being able to sleep especially with the beds being very comfortable.
A short walk to Becici beach, it was good to not have to drive every day. With it’s own private parking, our car felt safe and never had a problem when coming back from a day’s drive. Perfect location! The beach front had lots of restaurants/cafes. We met a friendly local who was giving us tips about the area. Some are not English speaking which was very refreshing! Visiting Budva town, we were even more pleased to have stayed where we were because we were away from the hustle and bustle. We got taxi’s into the centre of Budva, these were very easy to get from outside the apartment. This took 15-20mins and was very cheap!
Michael was also great! Sending us information, recommendations and instructions before our stay which was very helpful. Could not have asked for more.
We will definitely recommend this to any of our friends and family visiting Montenegro, we had a great stay!
It's hard to know here to start for such a memorable holiday, I only I hope I do the area justice as the local people are so lovely and landscape is truly wonderful.
Firstly, the Montenegro Penthouse is sandwiched between the beautiful bay of Becici and huge breathtaking mountains. It was a real joy to sit out on the balcony with a Nutella on toast and a coffee every morning!
The apartment is extremely spacious, modern and minimalist which is very much to my taste. The sofa is ripe for a cracking afternoon nap too! There is also a great range of clean bedding and a washing machine, so you really don't need to pack as much as you think. The shower is powerful as well.
The pool is quite literally seconds from the flat and is clean and quiet. I spent the majority of the holiday poolside, listening to the rumbling of the mountains above, it really is a spectacular place.
The beach is 5 minutes away and is great, the sea is as clear as they come and there are bars and cafes close by if you fancy a local brewed Niksicko beer. The whole promenade is full of local restaurants serving fresh fish as well as stuff for simpler tastes like pizza.
Some of the other tourists in and around Budva can be a little grumpy, but you can't have it all!
We had a great time overall, the flat was perfect for our needs and wonderfully placed. I've recommended it to everyone from work! Viva Monty!
The Apartment 32 is a Nice clean and tidy Apartment.
It has what you need and no more. We had two children in 1 and 5 years old and the beadroom was great, it was great With the AC, and the view was Nice. could have been elevator but it worked out great. The pool was Nice to have and it was just outside the Apartment.
The host that helps us With the arraival and during Our stay was really helpful and could speak English. Theese Place in Montenegro was Nice, the Beach is Nice, and you have great resturants near, the Beach can be expensive or cheap. At the night time you have several bars and a night life for both children, youth, and adaults.
We like Montenegro and we liked the apartment.
ps. dont wash the balcony with a bucket... :)
The apartment is perfect for a relaxing vacation in Becici, only a few minutes from the beach and seaside promenade. With the neighborhood market only a few minutes away, everything is easily accessible. The standard of the apartment is good with all amenities, the air-conditioning a welcome treat after a long day in the sun, the balcony refreshing in the afternoon-shade with a view of the sea and a pool that can be enjoyed for an afternoon swim. I highly recommend this place.
Seven minutes from the best beach in Montenegro (Becici) yet quietly nestled up against the mountain side, this location gives the best of both worlds, with fantastic panoramic views to the sea and the untouched mountains. Cafes and restaurants are easily accessed by the beach and the two 5 star hotels are in close proximity allowing a choice in dining /entertainment/spas for maximum convenience. At the end of the evening you can retreat to your own abode and just chill out on the terrace or have a late night swim in the pool. Another day you can walk or have a short drive to Budva, a medieval walled town on the bay, with plenty to offer in modern facilities, nightlife, restaurants, culture & history. Kotor bay, Skadar Lake, & the capital, Podgorica, are all within easy driving distance.
