In a quaint stone cobbled, secluded, tree lined, one way lane, one block back from 'the strip', T'Groenehof is a unique square of eleven small mews town houses, converted in the early 60's from the ruins of the slave quarters of the original 18th century T'Groenehof Estate. These colourful townhouses surround a central, private, secure, terraced courtyard with a swimming pool & patios.

No.5 has been extensively renovated, with new modern bathroom and kitchen, restoring and retaining the beautiful beach floors, high ceilings, teak sash windows & louvered shutters, panelled doors, brass door handles & Victorian fireplace. Air conditioner / heater in the living room.

This self catering townhouse, is upmarket & luxurious, with original oil paintings, antique mirrors, oriental rugs, elegant 6 seat 'Binnehuis' dining room suite, hand carved king bed headboard & other tasteful furnishings to match.

5 T'Groenehof Mews Green Point, is situated in a quiet ,one way, cobbled, tree lined lane with resident parking, one block back from 'The Strip' (Somerset Road) 5 minutes walk - to a dozen excellent restaurants, bistros, cafes and bars. Giovani's Deli, a Woolworth upmarket food store, chemist, laundry, DVD rental & Cape Town's biggest open air market. 10 minutes walk - to the new Green Point Stadium, to the V&A Waterfront and Cinemas, The Point Health & Raquet Club (Virgin), Metropolitan 9 hole golf course, & a dozen more restaurants and clubs on 'The Strip', the seafront promenade and coves and the quaint De Waterkant bohemian quarter. 15 minutes walk - to down town Cape Town, the CTCC convention centre and the colourful Malay quarter.

Large pool, is for the use of residents of T'Groenehof Mews only (11). The patio has a stone table to seat up to 8 with a 2 sq. m canvas umbrella, under a yellow wood tree. The cottage is fully serviced prior to arrival, in addition, a char is provided one half day per week (Saturdays) There is a laundry - 5 minutes walk. Short lets up to 6 weeks maximum.

Lovely apartment in a convenient location

We rented this apartment for our 9-day stay in Cape Town and were delighted. It's tastefully decorated and gave us plenty of living space during our extended stay in the city. As we were visiting in the summer, the plunge pool located right behind the apartment in a beautiful courtyard was especially nice. And each morning, we enjoyed having breakfast on the lovely, tree-shaded patio. The location is very convenient for sight-seeing in all directions. We were always able to park our rental car right in front of the apartment. The owner's son-in-law was there to greet us at our late night arrival, and during our stay, the owner checked in to ensure all our needs were being met.

Great Location, value for money

This property was reasonably priced for the season we rented for and comfortably slept 3 people.

We were checked in by Craig which was very friendly and gave us a tour of the property and ensure we were comfortable before he left us.

The owner welcomed us with a bottle of wine, which was a fantastic touch.

This property is located in the heart of Green point and close to great restaurants and the V&A Waterfront. There is allocated parking in front of the property which is great.

All and all a pleasant stay and I can recommend using this property.

Fell in love with Capetown

Good and inviting description of the property as well as the proximity to the waterfront entertainment and restaurant complex. Certainly well-appointed. Weekly cleaning service an asset. Great Sunday flea market nearby. Friendly and informative neighbors. Well-located as a base to explore beautiful Capetown and its attractions, magnificent seacoast and wine country.

Minor difficulty in being unable to lock back door and we found the fan in bedroom insufficient. Air-conditioning or a ceiling fan would be an asset.

We couldn't believe our luck

We found this cracking cottage by chance on the internet - and boy did we luck out with it. Fabulous location with plenty of good bars, restaurants, delis within an easy stroll. All facilities were there, including a plunge pool in the central courtyard at the back and your own little outside table for al fresco dining . No, the owner wasn't there to greet us, as someone else moaned about - but two very friendly neighbours were on hand to meet us (at 10pm on a Sat night!) and gave us great advice and recommendations. The bathroom in particular was luxurious. Cleaner comes once a week. Very handy for the city centre and the Waterfront and also the beach resorts. I'd recommend this to anyone who prefers self catering to hotels. A hire car is pretty essential tho' there is a taxi office just a few hundred yards from the front door. Enjoy!

convenient location!

This apartment has lots of nice facilities such as a well equipped kitchen, a lovely bathroom with separate shower cubicle and tasteful furniture in the living area. The location is its best selling point as there are lots of shops and good restaurants within a few minutes walk and the V&A is about a 15 minutes walk. The downside to the property is no air conditioning, cleaning only once a week so you could arrive to a dirty flat, communal outside space and no personal attention from the owner. I enjoyed my stay here but would not recommend it to a friend till the above problems have been dealt with.

Owner's Response: - This is a SELF CATERING cottage. Not a serviced facility. No guest will ever arrive to a dirty cottage, as it is fully serviced prior to every arrival. In addition, a char is provided once a week (Tuesdays) - The only communal area is the Mews pool and walkways in the centre courtyard. We have a large, EXCLUSIVE use patio, overlooking the pool. - The cottage is managed by an extremely friendly and helpful neighbour - 24/7, See other reviews. I, the owner, live 140 Km away. - The cottage has very good insulation, excellent cross ventilation, with big windows and a large, modern fan in the bedroom. Air-conditioning is unnecessary. (These guests are reported to have had all the windows closed for the duration of their stay).
