About Philip Nix
This house has been in our family for over forty years. While regularly upgraded it retains the charm of an early 20th century home. As a young couple we first moved to this area in 1972. with our one year old son. Shortly after my wife's mother moved in down the street into this address. After years in Sonoma County after retirement we returned to be close to family and the interests and variety of urban life in a beautiful city. Pasadena has a long and fascinating history with all the glitter of now and the charm of a gracious past.
Philip Nix purchased this House in 1973
Why Philip Nix chose Pasadena
As the reviews mention very often, the area is beautiful and suited to great walks. It is generally convenient but much more personal than a hotel.

Cozy cottage in very fine neighborhood.
Clean and cozy cottage in the lovely Madison Heights neighborhood. Be aware however that the ceilings in the bedroom are sloped in spots and therefore low. And the bathroom shower is small. If you are a big person, that might be a problem. It was not one for us.
Cute spot, very comfortable. Perfect for one or two people.
Shower is small and not easy to maneuver, but we are not tall people so it was fine. Host Very hospitable. We will definitely be back!
Unique Carriage Unit Convenient to All
Great value for those appreciating unique accommodations in a charming Pasadena neighborhood within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Super attentive owner.
Philip was a delightful host and the cottage was charming.
Perfect Pasadena stay
I couldn’t have been happier with my choice of Pasadena lodging. The space is extremely pleasant and comfortable; the kitchen is stocked with wonderful breakfast items; the neighborhood is one of the nicest in the city; and the owner is very friendly and helpful (he kindly set up a DVD player for me and even repaired the shower immediately after my reporting a problem with it). Don’t hesitate for a moment to reserve here!
Phillip is an absolutely wonderful host - everything about our stay was effortless! After a long travel day - arriving to a bottle of wine, cheese, crackers.... sitting under the orange tree and unwinding was the perfect start to our stay. So looking forward to a future visit!
