Built in 1890 and once a corner door grocery store, this completely renovated townhome can accommodate up to 14 people by combining both properties. Each unit is separate and has its own entrance, kitchen, living area, washer/dryer and free wireless internet.

Located within walking distance to shops, restaurants, art galleries, parks, trolley stops and River Street, this home is in the heart of Downtown Savannah's Historic District.

The upstairs (with separate entrance) 4 bedroom rental is airy and open with large windows, high ceilings and spacious rooms. The entire home is on one floor, you only climb one set of stairs from the Entry Hallway up to the living room. Original fireplaces, woodwork and heart of pine floors are throughout this newly redecorated home. The eat-in kitchen has granite countertops and coffee is provided for your convenience. This home does have cable and free wireless internet. Bedroom #1 has a king bed, fireplace and built-in bookshelves; bedrooms #2 and #3 have queen beds with fireplaces; and bedroom 4 has a set of antique twin beds. Two full bathrooms are conveniently located, one on each side of the home. (Sleeps 8)

The downstairs 2bdrm/2bath condo has a fully-equipped kitchen and features large windows and heart pine floors. The living room is charming with built-in bookcases, brick floors and a comfortable sleeper sofa. The Master bedroom includes its own TV and large attached bath. Located on its own lofted living area, the second bedroom also has a queen bed. (Sleeps 6).

This unit has free, on-street parking right outside the front door. Availability will depend on time of day and season. Our guests have not reported trouble parking near the home, even on the busiest of weekends.

On need of repairs

Immediately when I walked into the property I could tell that they don't do deep cleaning on a regular basis as the baseboards are very dirty. Walking up the stairs and getting to the kitchen there was apparently a recent leak in the ceiling and the drywall looked as though it could fall down at any moment. In addition, the coffee table in the living room was missing one of the glass inserts. The maintenance man was there fixing the air conditioner in the downstairs unit so he did go cut a piece of plywood to place in the hole where the glass is missing for our stay. The location was great although very noisy as it's on a busy street and the windows do not close all the way. The front bedrooms also get very warm as they are south facing and again the windows do not close all the way so the insulation in those rooms is not that good. I would recommend that the property owners do a thorough deep cleaning of the property and maintenance on the items that are in need of repair.

Very good experience for the second year in a row. Streets on either side of the property are very noisy, so if you're looking for a quite place to stay this may not be it. If you're looking for a lot of space, this is definitely it! Property is very clean. Smart TV is a plus. Great kitchen. We have a large group so the two properties together were perfect. The key pads on the door are much easier than keeping up with keys. Easy walk to Bay and River Streets.

The "courtyard" is a bit of a stretch though, it's a 10×10 dirt space that has no access from the house and covered in junk. We planned to grill there and WAY! The location was ok, could be a little intimidating considering you are across from low income housing. The beds were in terrible shape in the four bedroom codo and the lines need upgrading. The two bedroom was very modern and cute. It appeared more updated furniture and such.

Overall, we had a good experience at the Corner Door House. When we first arrived, the air conditioning in the 4 bedroom unit was not working; however, management was quick to provide us with portable ac units that we used the first night. They had some one out the next day and the air was fixed. The decor is very cute and really made for a great time. I would recommend this house again for sure.

Check in was a breeze, and the place is walking distance from the River St. area. The property was clean and well-maintained, though it is two separate apartments with separate entrances, which has been documented in the comments below. It wasn't a problem for us, and the common area of the 4 bedroom apartment was more than sufficient for all 6 of us to hang out.
