Everything at the Green Cabin was clean and nice.

  • 4 of 5

All of the amenities at the Green Cabin were nice, new and clean. It was easy to find and you felt like you were way out but in all you were not that far from a store or restaurant if you wanted one. Had one little issue but made a call and someone came and took care of it which was very very nice. If I had a complaint and I would not really say a complaint the bedroom downstairs felt a little musty. If was very hot that week end. All in all I would stay again.

Owner's Response: Wendy, Thank you so much for your nice review. Your suggestions are appreciated. We are aware of this issue and are in the process of checking into dehumidifiers that would work to take care of the downstairs. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to see you again.

Hidden gem

  • 5 of 5

I was completely amazed with this hidden gem. Very secluded and quiet cabin, very clean and fully equipped with all cooking/kitchen needs. My boyfriend and I stayed here looking for a private weekend getaway and that's just what we got. It rained all weekend and was completely perfect for staying in, cooking good food, and falling asleep to the rain every night. Couldn't have asked for a better spot! We will definitely be returning for a future getaway!

Beautiful Place

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is in a beautiful off of the beaten path and away from everyone. There is a cabin about 400 feet but we never heard a noise from them. It was beautiful & relaxing 5 days. The kitchen was well stocked with whatever you needed and the cabin was cleaned & unlocked when we arrived. I loved all the chairs around the campfire and FREE unlimited firewood for our whole stay. A very nice lady (didn't get her name) stopped by and put new stuff in the binder for things to do & places to eat. The owner (didn't get the gentleman's name) also stopped by and dropped off pieces of wood on a project he is working on. He talked to us for a good bit. He was very nice. Made you feel very welcomed. The Wifi does not work well. It actually felt great being away from the internet and enjoying nature. The only thing I would recommend is putting a small tv downstairs in the bedrooms. Like me I had very hard time falling asleep first few days but I got used to it. I will for sure recommended this place to anyone and would stay here again! Oh and I read on another comment about check in time....On VRBO it did say 2 pm but on the paper in the cabin it says 4pm. It wasn't a problem for us but just in case in the future for someone else.

Very Nice Get Away

  • 4 of 5

We knew nothing of Raytown Lake area and took a chance on a long weekend to get away from nonsense that is the city and it was a success.

- The cabin was really nice and had everything you could need.

- There is no WiFi and that's good as the whole idea was to get away.

- A hot tub would have really been a upgrade, but in no way was a minus.

- Everything was clean and very homey.

- Bugs? Well you're in the woods, so if I were giving anyone a tip: Make sure to pack or stop off at the nearby Wal-Mart and grab citronella candles and bug spray. We had very little trouble with bugs around the campfire area but wander off a few steps into the woods and they let you know they are there. It's nature.

- The lake was wonderful. It's a very short drive to Seven Points and I did not mind taking our boat in and out of the water each day. We paid the $25 launch fee at the marina as the parking is way better than the free launch. The cabin parking is a breeze to maneuver with the boat, no problems what so ever.

- Surroundings, there are some really good places to eat but it is rural.

- The owners were exceptional, I got my wires crossed and we arrived thinking we had a 2pm check in, it is really 4pm so the cleaners were still working but we were able to drop off the boat and make a run to the grocery store and stock up. They also provided very good tips for getting around and provide plenty of info for things to do.

- The cabins are situated relatively close to each other but not too close. This would be great for friends/family to rent yet enough privacy for just us.

- Very pleasant stay, yes we would do it again.

Cons (I'm reaching here)

- Downstairs was a little 'musty' a dehumidifier would probably cure that. We just opened a window and let the fan circulate and it cleared right up.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your nice detailed review. This will give other guests a good insight of what it is like to rent our log cabin in the woods. We are working on finding a dehumidifier for the downstairs. Your input was greatly appreciated.
